I have a 05 Goat. I got 2 Nitto NT-555 Extreme Performance tires in 275/40/17 for my car for cheap from my friend that are practically new. I was thinking about running them on the back. I go to the dragstrip occasionally and don't want to run around on DR's all of the time and these are about the best tires I can get w/out running DR's. I used them on my 03 GT and they got me better 60's than Nitto DR's did.

I know the Nitto DR's will fit, but will the regular Nitto tires in the same size fit w/out rolling the fenders. Or is rolling the fenders only necessary if I run bigger than any 275 tire no matter the brand or type?

Worse comes to worse, could I run them up front?

Please let me know, I need to put these on my car soon.

I wouldn’t run a 275 on an 8" rim. Nitto calls a 9" the minimum size. For DR's it's fine but for around town I wouldn't.

You will need to roll the fenders and you can’t use them up front because the will be suck against the strut.

I know on my Mustang it was no big deal running a 275 on a 17x8 wheel, so that I'm not worried about. How come a 275 DR will work out back but not a 275 street tire? :sneaky:

I hope it will work, or I just wasted some $ and need to resell them seeing as I don't know anyone with fender rolling capabilities :banghead:

Cut the lip out. This works also. Go from the 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock.

Make sure that you treat the metal for rust. I have a friend that did this on a 240 SX. He put 285s on it. Needed them to support the Skyline RB 26 motor.
