Hopefully you are buying those for "your Son's Honda Civic"!
Please don't disgrace the GTO with Ricer parts.
No 5 inch muffler tip, no neons, no strobes, no aluminium wings, no ground dragging lower valences, no funky fog lights, no clear tails, NO NO NO NO NO NO!

That would be a great way to cheapen the appearance of your GTO and make it look like a 17 year olds $2K beater.

Now if they could spray super hot acid onto any car that kills you off the line then you might have something.

speed demon... don't listen to these folks... it is your car, not theirs. You have the option of putting whatever additions you want on it.. Most of the people here are old fogies anyway. If you are going to put additions on a car, you should put them on this car NOT a civic. Why would you spruce up a crappy car and not spruce up a sweet ride. I am actually thinking about putting the undercarriage lighting on mine - phantom black with a nice low green or red glow would look pretty sweet in my opinion.

LOL I would never put those things on any car, but what I would of liked to of seen on the GTO would be heated seats, H.U.D., and OnStar.

I agree with the On-star and HUD but being in Southern California I cannot relate to the need for heated seats.

Uhh, if you put those on, I'm gonna hunt you down, steal your GTO and report you to the proper authorities in the Renassance (sp?) Center in Detroit so as to never let you purchase another GM vehicle again. :D

Very much agreed. Your car, your choice. But also its our choice to hunt you down and kill you, or at least post the pic on all the anti-rice sites out there.
Rules of the road:
1. Its better to be fast then look fast. Its even worse to look fast and be slow.
2. Yellow does not equal a faster car, no matter how much you aftermarket yellow stuff you add.
3. Stickers do not add horsepower, despite that belief among most of the ricers on the planet.
4. More driving lights doesn't mean a faster car.

agree tigger....
1) getting the nice classy phantom black... not yellow or red or purple, etc
2) No stickers, no corny fart noice mufflers, etc
3) the under lighting I am looking at is just a very low glow maybe a red or green. I am not looking at tricking the car out, just really love those undercarriage lights - always have.
4) if anyone else has a problem with looking at it LOOK FREAKIN AWAY THEN!

As I understand it the brightness of the yellow scares the air molecules away faster thus giving the car a little extra push.

tails by that same theory I could say that undercarriage lighting excites molecules underneath the car providing lift negating some of the weight of the car and therfore affecting thrust in a positive way

By that same theory, undercarriage lights affect the molecular disposition of my face causing me to frown faster and tell you to go park in the honduh section. :D

dude, im not 100% sure, but the way they have the washer sprayers on the GTO, i dont think u can get the neon ones on there...they put these little rubber ones on there...would make it really hard to do if it worked at all

Anyone know where I can find a nice Sparkomatic replacement for the Blaupunkt?? I looked in the section that has the neons and naked lady mudflaps and the Baby on Board signs, but all I left with was some deer whistles and a pair of 'Keep on Truckin' floormats. How the hell am I going to complete the look with all this cleanliness and refinement throughout the car?? Oh well, I've got to go dig out my chrome barefoot gas pedal cover and get my Dashmat ordered. Seeya!!:D :D :D

Hey Britus, he missed the baby on board signs, but my son gave me naked lady stickers, a deer whistle like ( actually looks sort of like a Olds 88 ) hood ornamement, "8 ball" shifter knob, chrome barefoot gas pedal cover and best of all, fuzzy dice for Christmas. Found all in local Pep Boys I think. Glad he has never seen JC WHitney catalog. I am way ahead of you.:D

Work @ a corporate owned NAPA in Wis and we just put in rice products to keep in step with the Autozones,Western autos etc..
We don't sell much of this stuff but we have it all. Lights that flash with your bass, lighted shift knobs.neon etc..
To each is own. But personally I think its all crap.
More of it is stolen than paid for in the store, We are thinking about sending it all back to the distrabution center.
The first thing I am doing is tinting the glass and Sticky tires

I meant to say something about that. I noticed a banner in the window of my local NAPA hocking that junk when I was there Sunday getting a set of brake rotors for the HD.

I occasionally have people ask me if I can install neons for them, or if they can get a 300 amp alternator for their car so their Walmart battery won't drain 5 minutes after they turn on all their crappy stereo equipment, or if we can put wheel spacers on so they can make their Geo Tracker look like a big rollerskate, crap like that. Kids usually, but not necessarily! It's comical. I smile and say no thanks, we just do OEM stuff or engine mods maybe. Yikes.

You know what sucks the worst? I have to put a blue and white license plate that says Iowa on my phantom black GTO with red interior. Front and back!!! I've never seen a cop who wants to pass someone to get their plate number. Too bad you can't choose your tags, the MAN is keeping us down again!

britus - just get customized plates if you hate the blue & white so much. In VA we have a selection of about 400 plates you could get. I love the cool new national air & space museum plates that feature the sr-71 blackbird

Looks like you missed a physics class or two. This is a car, not a kite. In order to make the car go faster, you need more down force, not less (better traction). If the lights under to car make it go faster, then obviously it creates more down force.
.
Bottom line, lites under to car SUCK! any way you cut it.

You are getting good advice here not to buy every little doo-doo dad and bauble to stick to your car. Yes it is yours, but Elton John dressed like a doof just to get noticed. That didn't make him cool. It made him look like a doof. Of course, he started dressing better when he came out. Except for the Moe Howard hair cut.
.
Ya know, maybe all those cars dolled up with worthless crap like wiper, undercarriage & cobra lites. Not to mention the coffee can muffs. are just itching to "Come Out?"
.
The reason those ricers need all that crap is to take the attention off the wheezing up front. If your GTO's got the grunt, why take attention from it?

There you go, the lights suck therefore increasing downforce.
Seriously though, too much downforce does slow the car down because it increases the amount of air being moved. They talk about this all the time during practice for the indy 500 and Talledega races.

My gramma had a ricer. It was a kitchen tool designed to take a perfectly good potato and made it look like something it's not. Same with all these ricey doo-doo dads. If you want to see a pic of a potato ricer I would suggest frets.com. (A great site for Guitboxes and other stringed instruments by the way.)
Seriously folks, if you wanna rice up your own GTO, I guess we can't stop you. However, in the same way if you paint your Coupe deVille purple and pink and upholster it in leopard skin, visors the headlights, wire wheels on 3" sidewalled tires, and top it off with curb feelers, don't be surprised if people call it a pimp mobile. That may not have been your intention, but that's life. Rice up your GTO and it'll be call a ricer. The choice is yours.
.
Thought for you. Where are all these ricey parts made? Somewhere along the Pacific East Coast. (for those geographically disadvantaged, Riceland,[no not SanFrancisco, but China, Indonesia, et.al.) I guess Rice fits.

...Wait a darn minute, more down force means more air being moved? Doesn't more down force mean a lower profile and less cross-section of air being moved through? Car set-up is complex. Its more that just down force, you have tire pressure, wedge, rubber composition to consider too. I don't think using lights to uplift the car is gonna work. Being a long time armchair Winston cup driver, I'm not sure what you say about less air to move is quite correct. Maybe we need to get an expert on the subject.
.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. You out there?
AJ Foyt you out there? (is he still racing?) How about Big Daddy Garlitts?
