a lil high
a lil high
A little high????
Let's break it down shall we?
Shipping actual cost (I know I just shipped 4 wheels and tires to Texas)
$40 each, not my cost that's UPS so we have $160
Packing materials $40 just about covers 4 wheels
We're now at $200, so now the selling price is $1300 for 4-18" wheels including tires, so now let's break that part down that's $325 each and again this includes wheels and tires.
Let's shop for tires, try this link:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Bridg estone&model=Potenza+RE040
235/40ZR18 $228...each! times 4 = $912! (Plus mounting, balancing, etc) BTW, I'm not much more and I am including the wheels!
Ok these are not brand new, thay have 500 whole miles on them so let's slash the price (which is already the lowest internet price I found BTW! I found them priced from $228-$294 each plus mounting and balancing)
by 35% so now we are at about $600 ($150 each for one of the top rated tires made, read the reviews) for all four and oh BTW they are already mounted balanced etc!
So now we are at $700 for the wheels, that's only $175 each.
No offense man, but you need to get out more! :D
So now you tell me what do you want for your wheels and tires shipped to my door, insured?
So having said all this are you buying or just stating your opinion?
If it's your opinion then what do you think I should sell my 18" wheels and tires for with less than 500 miles on them?

LMAO!! no shit. Would you be willing to sell just the wheels?
dude, did his comment get under your skin a little?
A bit.
I would have let it slide if he had said gee I'd offer you xxx how about it.
But to just come on and slam someone that's just wrong.
I had also seen another slamming comment he made to a guy after the dude was stoked having scored a set of wheels.
Guy needs to lighten up a bt and either say something constructive or just sit down. ;)
I guess some folks just can't let other be happy.
Same dudes that would walk out on a sunny day and bitch that it's cloudy just because there is a a few clouds in the sky, need to lighten up and get a life IMO.:wiggle:

Depends, I've seen 3 dudes rave about scoring a set for $750 plus freight so at that price of course! ($1500-$200 for freight=$1300-$750=$550 for just the tires=deal!)
That leaves me with a set of four Potenza's at about $138 each which would be a real steal!

From my experience, these boards are all the same.
Faceless people being able to be a wise-ass without any consequences.
A lot of those folks would not say a lot of the things they post here if they were face-to-face with that person. It's the annonomity of a forum that permits this behavior.
In a perfect world, everyone would be more considerate of their fellow members. But alas, this is not that world.

When selling anything online in my experience, it is a common practice to be knocked down in price. That’s just the name of the game even in person or not.
You just have to expect it and price accordingly.

I agree with the seller of the 18 inch factory wheel set....... (If I had the $$$ I'd buy them right now!)
It is only fair to ask for a lower price.... If the seller is serious set on the price, and the buyer REALLY wants them, they will come to an agreement.......
I Really "take with a grain of salt" all the people on this (and other boards) How they rave that they got their New 2006/2005 GTO's out the door for outrageously lowball prices, Claiming "how somebody paid them to take all their expensive GTO parts" or scored them for hundreds of $$$ less than the average guy can find them or obtain them........ If that's the case, "You Da Man"!
That may happen "once in a great while"... Maybe lucky or they have some good friends? I just have to a laugh at it.........:gr_jest:

Now there's a guy with his head on straight! (figures...he's from Maryland! Great State)
Great out look on life dude!
That's how it should playout.
Funny, I have sold some parts for outragiously low prices and also had some wise ass give me hell for destroying and whoring up the market...can't win either way I guess.
I'll just be oer here in the corner with my dunce cap on!
Oh the shame of it all...

I sold my factory 18's through this site and I wished I had ask a little bit more. Better to start high on things and go from there. Good luck with the sale!

Still alittle high, try $1200 shipped and you will find a buyer. I know I wouldn't ask that much for my stock 18's with the rubber when I go to sell them in a month or so. Also the Bridgestone tires we have on these things are a POS, not worth $60 a tire IMO.

Wish I had $1500, If you can hold them till March then maybe we can do something. I will then sell my 04's for cheap.

$1500 is outrageous, for factory wheels, come on. I just priced out some 18x8.5 Foose wheels in chrome with 245 40 18 tires all with chrome valve stems, mounted and balanced with chrome lugs, shipped all for $2100 from Cali to MI. I think more like $125 for each wheel and maybe $75 each tire. $800 would be a normal price for plain factory wheels and tires.

Saw someone on this site bought 18" Thruxtons w/tires shipped to his door for less than that. Stock wheels have little value unless someone really wants them. Good Luck!

20 years from now those 18's will be worth their weight in gold. I'm keeping mine even if I go with an aftermarket set a little later. :boink:

Shit 20 years from now GTO's should be worth a nice amount considering the amount they made. Hopefully the want will be there.
