Well I was happy that the brown man came today but I don't know if I should be happy with his delivery.

I bought a set of four wheels from ebay for $898 that included shipping. Some of you may have even seen the sale last week. The add read 18" '04 GTO rims in re-conditioned but outstanding shape.

1) I have never heard of 18" rims coming from an '04 GTO. I called him and he said they were in fact from an '04 GTO. I think he was blowing smoke.
2) The set of four rims appears to be two sets of two mismatched rims. Two of the rims have one GM part number and the other two a different part number.
3) One set of two rims has "Made in Japan ENNKI GM and the part number"
4) the other set of two rims has only "GM and the part number"
5) The rims were obviously repainted to the same glossy Quicksilver that is on my car.

The wheels are in great shape so I guess I should be happy. I don't know where the wheels came from BUT since they are mismatched I guess I should not ask. The wheels came from Detroit so anything is possible. (I'm from MI so I can say that.)

Take a look at the back of the wheels and look at the different casting between the two different sets.:whine:

come on guys cut me some slack. I wanted you to look at the back of the wheels and tell me if there will be some sort of installation difference. One set of wheels has notches on the back and the other does not!

Ok, asked for the fronts and here it is. I though many of the guy posting here would have been into the "ass" pics:bootyshak

As long as all 4 look like the last attachment, you shouldn't have a problem. Those are the 18" rims. Those couldn't have come from an '04, '05 maybe. Otherwise, you got a hell of a deal.

I just bought 4 each 18inch 2006 rims for a total of $750.00, shipped with all center caps and lugs. I was checking Ebay twice a day and when the sell came up with a buy now option of $700.00 I was totally stoked. The Ebay seller was totally cool and he drove the new goat home and removed the rims.

Looking for feedback on what tires are recommended.

Also would someone like to buy my 17 inch wheels and tiires. 2005 with 1800 miles on them. Easy drive due to break in period.

Im glad you think you got a deal. I have seen 125 mile 18 inch take-offs with rubber for 1200 including center caps and lugs. My question has all ways been with those wheels....why would a "set" of wheels need to be reconditioned after a year...one maybe....but all?

my best guess is that the wheels were not "obtainted" from legal sources and or the car they were removed from was wrecked.

just a guess
