Estimated price is $32,495.
It confirms everything we've read: 2005 'Vette LS2 (50 more HP and 395 lb. ft. of torque), split dual exhaust with a hood scoop option (don't know if I like that or not  ).

That is good news. What transmission is that with?
Also at that price and with the interest that has been generated about the 05 do you think that the General will try for 18K in sales again?
It seems to me like they have their act together. They know that a lot of people will be spending extra cash on the 18" wheels, and the appearance packages so they don't feel the need to gauge on the base price and have therrfore made it very reasonable. There might have been some competitive forces at work here also since there are some other cars in the same market.

I don't think that's correct.

Assuming that is without the manual option and no destination charge, that could very well be correct. It would represent about a 700 dollar increase over the 04, which falls somewhat less than the $1000 to $1500 that has been bandied about. All in all, I'm hoping it's correct. Only time will tell.

Will there still be a $1000 gas tax for the A4?

Yes, it's in the RPO guide.

I think hood scoops are standard with a delete option. Am I correct?

I wish Pontiac would hurry up and establish an MSRP and availability date.
I bet they are waiting for Ford to make their announcements.

Ok so what are the options besides the tranny?

So far as I know we have the transmission, the Sport Appearance Package ("Autocross" kit), 18" wheels (not sure if this is separate from the SAP), and hood scoop delete. These are the only things I have read about around this forum and the various GM links that have been posted.

Hmm... so with those options I wonder how much a load GTO would sell for maybe 35K??

From the GM website: MSRP for the 04 is $32,495 for the A4 and 33,190 for the M6.

If that's the price for the 05, I might have to pass up the 04. Even with the $4500 in rebates.

I have a feeling they are gonna keep the price the same. It seems crazy with the options being added and 50 more hp but GM has been dead serious about making the GTO worthy the name. It'll do what it takes for this car to succeed and keeping the price down kills the competition.

That is the same base price as the 2004. I find more believeable the $1,000 to $1,500 more the head of Pontiac was quoted in the Chicago Tribune with, then a "estimated" price in Motor Trend.

The MSRP is $32,495, the extra thousand is from the gas guzzler tax.
You can look at it however you want but the bottom line price is $33,495. The gas guzzler is listed as an option on the sticker. Not a big deal, but the A4 is $305 more than an M6 regardless.
MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE $ 31,795.00
Options installed by Manufacturer
GAS GUZZLER TAX
$ 1,000.00
TOTAL OPTIONS $ 1,000.00
TOTAL VEHICLE & OPTIONS $ 32,795.00
DESTINATION CHARGE $ 700.00
TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE*** $33,495.00

Gas guzzler only applies to the automatic.

Yeah, that's why the A4 is $305 more than the M6.

I know of the $3500 bonus cash on 2004s. where is the additional $1000 rebate coming from on the 2004??

Additional $1,000 rebate could be the GM Employee Bonus rebate. Or others have posted about receiving additional GM Card earnings through a special limited mailing. Best bet would be the Employee Bonus.

The extra $1000 is for GM Employees and their family members ONLY until the end of the month! I was hoping that I could use it on my new C6, but the Corvette is a excluded vehicle! :banghead: :-punch:

So there is a 3,500 plus the 1,000 (if you're eligible) which is 4,500. Now, can you get the (roughly 3,000) GMS discount on top of this?

Yes you can get the GMS bonus with the GMS price (if eligible for GMS(Employee).

So what I'm hearing is that I can get the GMS price of 30K minus 1k equals 29k and then I can take off another 3,500 in rebates. Bringing the cost down to $25,500. That seems like robbery.

There's something really, really troubling about the assumption -- which seems to show up on all the US GTO boards, not just this one -- that anyone who buys this car has access to a GM employee or supplier discount.
Do you guys really think that nobody in the general populace would want one?

Jac- I see your point, but the Supplier price especially, is no big deal. Any person could walk into a Pontiac dealer these days and walk out at Supplier pricing. Even a Ford or Toyota employee. :)

I'm reasonably confident I'll be able to cut a good deal on an '05 when it's time for me to get one, but I don't work for GM, don't work for a supplier, don't know anyone in my area who *does* work for GM or a supplier, etc. It's just weird to keep reading all this talk of employee and GMS pricing.

I really hope that you can. It would be a shame to pass on the awesome 04
pricing now, only to have the dealers jackup the prices on the 05's. Hopefully
all involved have learned from the 04 sales debacle and things go much
smoother. :)

So has anyone figured out if the "Autocross" aero kit will be available for ALL colors or in pieces as add-on parts? Personaly, I dont want the whole kit and I'd like to get it for an IBM blue 05. (I just want the front and side skirts and keep the stock rear and wing.) How about the cost for the kit or seperate parts?
CSiJason

My own question is answered... The grill inserts are available seperatly. Now the side skirts may be a bit tricky to get, but I could always order some HSV ones online from Ozzyland.
