Guys,
Anyone hear anything as to when the first 05 GTO's are supposed to arrive here in the states? I was in a very bad accident and my 04 GOAT got totaled. I am expecting the insurance company to cover the cost of the car, but I'm not sure I can drive another GTO after that experience (the accident was not my fault, but my girlfriend almost died and is in ICU from it). I was thinking I might go with an 05 if I do decide to get another GTO, definitely not another Torrid Red though. Any other suggestions on a car with similar price/performance to the GTO?
Thanks,
Y2J

That's a tough break... Or good luck depending how you look at it. Going by what happened last year I would hope for GTO's on the lots in November but I wouldn't count on it.
As far as other car options... I would probably look at a used BMW M3 or 330 convertible. There is the Chrysler 300C though, or the 2005 Mustang (if you like it) That's all I can think of this early in the morning.

Holden are the victim of industrial disputation here in Adelaide at the moment and it is delaying the roll-out of the VZ and of course Monaro/GTO.
That said I summise that it will be possibly january before they get to the West Coast.

Does that mean they are on strike?

Waiting is hard. But it will make the down payment easier.

Air International it is.
Here's a news article about it from 6 September. (http://abc.net.au/sa/news/200409/s1192771.htm)

My '05 order still shows a TPW of 9/20, no change as of right now. I'll check again next week.

TPW and when they actually arrive at the dealer are two totally different things. I say around Thanksgiving you will start seeing them at dealers.

There was a post on another board that this push back to December was going to happen. If built 1st of December, still could have as much as a three month wait to arrive. Could be March.
