FINALLY!:eek2:
So tonight I picked up the car from the shop I had roll the fenders. They did a GREAT job (see post in the Buyer Feedback area for Midstate Collision Repair). Here's a link (http://home.insightbb.com/~thgrich/index.html) to some "camera phone" quality pics of the new setup (possible 56k modem death - be advised!).
Wheels are Mille Miglia EV-S 18x8s, 45mm offset.
Tires are Avon Tech M550 in 245/40-WR18
With the fenders rolled out of the way, a cool (25F) evening and a longish uphill on-ramp onto I-155 North, the new setup didn't rub at all and hooks up hard all the way through third (about 80-90 MPH or so). Very quiet on the highway. The 18s with the lower profile sidewalls provide a lot more direct steering without getting too harsh over tar strips and bad pavement.
The whole setup was very affordable (less than $1500 for all 4 wheels and tires - mounted, balanced, new lugs and delivered to my door ready to bolt on). We'll see what develops with them over time, but so far it's a big improvement over OEM and not too much spent trying it out (at least compared to some setups I read about on this site!). And they look sharp IMHO...kinda like the factory 18s but with a bit more pizzaz....
Good to have the BlueFlyingGoat back home where it belongs!:wiggle: :burnout:
