What happens when you mount directional tires on the wrong side? The dealer mounted my tires on my new chromed stock wheels and mounted them on the wrong side. I have driven about 1300 miles before someone else noticed this. Have I damaged my tires? Tires are NITTO NT555 Extremes.

I'm not an expert, but I would say that you have not damaged your tires. I believe that the directional thing only has to do with better wet traction by funnelling the water back and away.

Have you noticed bad wet traction?

Instead of losing tread, you're adding tread. Your tires are going to be Huge in a couple of months.......hehehehe. Really though, I think it has to do with the tread design and as the other member said, the way it channels the water.

If it works in reverse I'm gonna go do some burnouts in reverse. Thanks.
But I'm still pressing the stealership for new ones. That wasn't all they screwed up.

I was asways told that if you mount directional radial tires on wrong it will bread the cord it them. If metal, nylon or whatever that is the story I have always been told. I do not know that for a fact but since radials came out that is the scoop I have always been told:wall:
