The driver is Peter Brock, probably the most famous race car driver in Australia. Any race car in Australia that has an "05" number on it is one that he drove. His most recent victory was as one of the team of drivers that drove a 7 litre Monaro in the recent 24 hour race at Bathurst.

That would be the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position, OE on the new Ferrari's and upscale Porsches. It's the sh*t.

But they also weren't driving the monaro at 100%. Brockies bestr ace would have to be back in 79 in the A9X torana where while leading by 6 laps at Bathurst he set a lap record on the final lap, just to show that both car and driver were still as good at the end, as they were at the start...

I dont think any driver drove 100% in Bathurst, its a 24hr race.

Same thing happend this year with Murf and Tander. Fastest lap in the last couple, battling for 1st.

Peter Brock is still very fast. He did extremely well in the Targa Tasmania (road rally) driving a Monaro. He doesn't regularly race any more, but he cannot be judged on his age.
