I am looking at a set of wheels, 18x8.5 with a 45mm offset.

This causes 3mm less clearance at the strut. it also causes +9mm to the outside.

Would these work woth 235/40 or 245/40?

The wheels are Niche Rhines:

Otherwise its probably thruxtons

My first set of wheels were 18x8 45 offset, with 245/40. They never rubbed but the clearence looked just like stock. It also depends on the tires you go with, some run wider than others.

But the Rhines are 8.5" wide, not 8 :(

Yea, if you do out the math, yougain 3mm with the offset difference and lose about 6mm with the extra 0.5" of rim (total 3mm closer to strut) :banghead:
