I'm probably going to buy an 06 GTO in a 2-3 months, but I'm not ready to buy one right now. I went to a dealership yesterday asking about ordering one, and they pulled some bs saying what they have now is all they are going to get. I'm guessing thats bs, and was just wondering when dealers are going to stop getting in new gto's...

I wouldn't wait forever. If some dealers already have their allotment, they may in fact get no more. Shipments are supposed to continue into Sept. though.

I wouldn't wait any longer than you have to--I've been monitoring dealer inventories locally , and as soon as they announced the end they started disappearing

The ordering process is already done for the record so that isn't :bs:
I can't comment on if they have gotten all thier allotment yet or not though.
If you want a specific color then I wouldn't wait too long.....if you don't NEED a certain color, are willing to travel to get it, or get a slightly used one....then the need to not wait will decrease.

Dealer orders were supposed to end on March 17th and production is scheduled to end on June 9th. Dealers will still have cars coming in, but they can't really "order" one for you. Since the only options on the car are color, trans, and wheels, there really isn't anything special that a dealer would order for you anyway.
For a few months a dealer should be able to "find" any combination you want and swap another dealer for it if it's not something he has in stock. Some dealers charge a bit extra if they have to get a car from another dealership, but not all of them. It's a good idea to keep checking inventories on pontiac.com to see what's avaliable in your area. When you see that inventories of the combination you want are getting low, you better pull the trigger.
Nobody really knows how things will pan out for the 06 models. Right now we're in the middle of May and there are still tons of unsold 05's out there at really decent prices. If you look you can still find almost any combination of color/trans. Partly that's because many dealers didn't get their 05's until late last year. With the "new" pricing on the 06's and the fact that Pontiac is actually starting to put some TV ads out there, maybe the new models will sell out a bit earlier. The fact that this is the "last of the breed" may inspire a few purchases, too. Who knows? It does seem that we're seeing more new 06 owners here every day.
Don't wait too long.
