Hey,

We just ordered a set of SSR GT2's in 18x8 40mm and 18x9 45mm for the One Lap Goat from the Tire Rack! This will replace the ASA AR1's in 17x8 40mm and 17x9 45mm the car currently is running.

http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/ssr/swap/ssr _gt2_silver_ci3_l.jpg

3 front and 3 rear! You get to take a spare for each axle if the sizes are different.

Enrique

They are the lightest wheels, in the offset I needed, that I could get from the Tirerack. I agree that it could do with out the logo, but looks were 3rd on my list of priorities after weight and strength.

Thanks!

Well...how about that. I tried to ask Tire Rack about offsets on SSR wheels and the basically told me to stuff it. Nice to have connections. :)

Do you feel the handling improvement was worth having only one spare per axle, as opposed to running four identical wheels/tires, so either of your two spares could go on either axle?

If you are still interested in these wheels PM me and I will give you a contact there who can hook you up...

Absolutely! I will be running a wider tire in the rear and it is almost a requirement for a high horsepower RWD car, unless you can run wider all around. Unfortunately our cars will not take anything wider than 245 up front while you can run a 275 in the rear. Besides, if they are all the same, I am only allowed one spare.

Bridgestone is hooking us up with some tires. We are hoping to get their new one, the Potenza RE-0R1, but we don't know if it will be available in time. It is supposed to be an incredible tire!

265/35R18 and 235/40R18. This is deceiving though, the RE-0R1 is actually wider in those sizes than the 275 and 245 I am running now.

cool. here is my setup. I am running pedders coilover front (set to keep car level right now) and 1/2-3/4 drop in rear. i am also running -.5 deg camber street and -2 to -3 track. I have escentric strut tops installed and 1/4" spacers w/ extended studs.

from what you see do you think i could run 18x8.5 w/ 40 offset up front? what about 18x9.5 w/ 52-54 offset in rear while running -.5 camber there?

I think the 8.5 in the front, even with the - camber might be too close. I have 8" (40mm) wheels in the front running -2 camber in the front with 5mm spacers and the tire was rubbing on the fender lip. I run about -1.5 in the rear and had to roll the fender to get the 275/45R17 to fit on a 9" wheel with a 45mm offset. I am not sure how much room there is on the inside though. So if you move it in with the 52-54mm offset it will probably clear on the outside, but you need to check clearance in the inside.

I also have a set I picked up from Discount Tire that was 72.5mm to 70mm or something like that. It was off a little less than 1mm and seemed to work good. Just go to a one of their stores and tell them what you need, they have a list and will find the closest match. You need something that works from a 69.55mm (hub on GTO) to 72.5 (opening in wheel).

I would think you would be ok, but you might want to ask Luke at the Tire Rack. It might be a bit too tall in the front.

I think you mean the front tires you want are P245/40/18. Maybe a little dyslexic?

I got 3 of the 4 wheels today. Why only 3 you ask? It's because my other wheel is somewhere in San Pablo, CA nowhere to be found. I didn't mount them yet since I might need the car before Monday and 1 missing wheel is a problem. Hopefully the last wheel shows up tonight.

If anyone in or near San Pablo, CA sees a UPS truck doing burnouts with 1 SSR wheel let me know! :madsign3:

They are definitely lighter than stock. I have a crappy scale, but id say 5-10lbs lighter than stock 17" with well worn tires.

I have serious fender rub on the stock un rolled fenders in back...gonna have to fix that. the rears stick out pretty far. also going to need those little mud flap thingies...

couple questions 1lapgto:

-how much are your fenders cut?
-what wilwood pads you running for the track (f and r)?
-have you installed your rear drop springs yet, how much of a drop did you get?
-have you got tires for the rims yet?

thanks a lot. i am trying to decide what i am going to do about mine right now. i need r-comps for autox badly but i need to see what wheels i am going to be running first.

No cut, just rolled up tight.

Rear pads BP-10, Front either E or B.

Haven't installed springs

And no tires yet. I probably will not have the tire until next week.
