I swear this is the last time I'll ask. I've got a set of 18" VY wheels on the way. I've asked everybody, and I'm still not sure. I want the look of the 245, but I don't want to have to deal with the strut issue. Is there a larger 235 tire or will I have to settle for that smallish look. Several members I've talked with have 245's and no problems. I'm looking for just a clean swap, no stagger or fender rolling. This is a daily driver. I want a tire that looks aggressive that should have come on the car oem. I'm going to have to make the choice soon. These wheels should have been the stock wheel!!!!! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

I know that you do not want a staggered fitment, but it is worth stating that fender rolling is not a concern even with the 265s I put on the rear. I went with a 235 in front for the exact reason you mentioned...strut rub. I think that if you went with the BFG KDW2s in 235 you will be happy with the performance...you are not going to lose much, if anything, over a 245.
Check out this thread (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=622 62) on the 245 fit on the front.

I upgraded to the VY/OEM 18" wheels and 235/40-18 BFG KDW tires last summer and have been pleased with the results. No decrease in ride quality and they handle just as good if not better than the stock setup. My only complaint are that the KDW's can be a bit noisy cruising around town-they're fine on the highway. I too wanted to be able to rotate since I run this setup 8 months out of the year (switch back to stockers for the winter). I think you're probably looking at a 50/50 chance that you'll get strut rub with anything bigger than 235 on the fronts. Expensive as tires are, I didn't want to take any chances.

I just yesterday replaced my 17" stock wheels/tires with a set of new 18" dealer takeoffs from an 06 GTO, with the 235/40/18 Potenzas. I noticed some strut rub on both front struts, and my alignment seems fine. I would definitely go with the 235 size tire, which allows more space between the struts. I also got a much smoother and quieter ride as compared to the BFG 17s.

245's worked fine for me once I got the alignment corrected.

Are the BFG KDW2s the new tread pattern that sort of resembles a leaf pattern?

I did the same thing this week and I find the 18's to have a much firmer ride than the 17's. I'm getting used to it now but at first I was surprised at how choppy the ride felt next to the stock 17's.
