anyone see these? they are 45mm offset so that should work out with minimal spacers if any. only downside is no staggered option for wider rears. you can do the interactive wheel shop, but its kinda off so a photoshop may be better.
what do you think? not too bad for 200 bucks a wheel.

Those should look nice...do they come in 18s?
jdo6696

yeah they do, and actually the 18x9.5's come with 50mm offset, the 18x8.5's only come in 40mm offset, so they may need a spacer in front, but i am no expert on that issue. but looks like there is an option for a staggered setup.

Great Score. Had I known...
Nice find, I bet they would look pretty sweet. Drop down to their 18" and its less than 200.00 non chrome.

The 18"x8.5" with +40 offset should work without incident. The rear 9.5" wheels would work, if the fenders were rolled. Or you could make the rear suspension stiffer (not necessarily harsher riding). My 9" rears have a +50mm offset.

So 18"x8.5" with +40 offset with stock tire sizes should work all around with no fender rolling, spacers, or other mods? The reason I ask is that the website does not show them as an option for the GTO.

I believe that other members have run the same combination without problems.

my guess is pretty close to the stock wheels since they are cast aluminum, but the spokes aren't as thick as the stockers so i may be wrong.

In case anyone is wondering, i priced out a staggered setup for these in 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. its actually cheaper than the 19x8 all around that i had originally looked at. Nitto is the best priced for 235s that match the 275 rears.

That's a great price on the combo. Did you happen to call them and ask them about fitment on the GTO. I notice that they don't list this wheel when I bring up wheels for the GTO.

Nope, but from what i have been seeing on here (example below), i dont think there would be much of an issue with fitment aside from getting the rear inner fender rolled to compensate for the 275s and 50mm offset. i would only be worried about the fact that the front is only 40mm offset and is 8.5 inches wide whereas our stockers are 8 inches wide.

I think you mean that you would need the outer lip on the rear fender rolled. The Nittos might barely clear in that set of measurements. I can't figure this scenario out: When I first got a set of ROH Drift Rs, I got the 9" rear wheels. They had a +50mm offset. Only the Toyo T1-S (now T1-R) was tested to fit without rubbing the rear fender. I went with the Mastercraft Avenger ZHP tires. They rubbed under hard turning. My WS6 wheels are 9" in the rear with the same +50mm offset. I am using Fuzion Zri tires with not noticable rubbing. Maybe there is a difference in the design of the tires' shoulders. BTW, why would the 8.5" wheels on the front worry you?

Without actually being able to look at the car with that wheel/tire combo on it, I can't say for sure. I would imagine -1* would be the limit.

damn, that sucks. I do have the escentric strut tops and longer wheel studs for spacers. I still need someone to cut me some custom 1/4" hubcentric spacers though.

Ok, so I just got off the phone with one of the toolbags at discount tire and he said that they wont fit. He said the fronts would stick out past the fendor. He said the rears probably wouldn't work either.(I know that rolling the rear fendor is a given) Is he speaking the truth??

They may stick out from under the fenders just a little. But, that is the customer's decision. Most places like Discount Tire just don't want you trying to send the wheels back. They don't want to have to go through the refund work.

yeah, thats what i meant, thanks. the only reason the 8.5" concerned me was because i didnt know if the extra 1/2 inch would make any difference in clearance issues on the front struts combined with the 40mm offset. wheel tech is not my specialty, come to think of it, i don't really have a specialty, but that's why i come here to learn.

I can go through the long technical process of explaining that the 8.5" wheels won't cause a problem, but I don't want to bore you to death. Also, thanks for the wheel compliment.

I like those a lot too, especially if they are making them in the right offsets to allow for a 9.5 or 10 inch wheel in the rear, I will be finding cash for those in a hurry if they do.
Yep, I am getting some help to install them here at the house. I have been thinking of doing something with the shifter too, but the headers have kinda put that on the back burner for now. I will let you know when they are in so you can check them out if you want.

Wheel width is simple. The wheel centerline is where you measure offset. A +40mm offset means that the mounting pad of the wheel (where the wheel & the car's hub meet) is 40mm towards the face of the wheel. Negative offset would place the mounting pad towards the back side of the wheel. For the wheel you guys are looking at, here is how it would compare to the stock GTO wheel:
GTO wheel: 8" wide (203.2 mm)--offset +48mm
To find out how much of the wheel will be under the fender & whether you will get strut rub, this is the math you have to do.
Divide width in half (203.2 / 2 = 101.6mm)
Add the offset (101.6 + 48 = 149.6mm)
The aftermarket wheels you are looking at would be like this:
Width: 8.5" (215.9 mm)--offset: +40mm
Divide width in half (215.9 / 2 = 107.95mm)
Add the offset: (107.95 + 40 = 147.95mm)
This means that from the hub to the strut, the aftermarket wheel will be no closer to the strut than the factory wheel.

You seem to really understand what fits on the GTOs. I understand your math, but am concerned that an 18x8.5 on all four corners would be a problem on the outside of my car, which has King 1/2" drop springs in front and King springs in back. Rear fender lip is rolled but I'm thinking about having that repaired due to the paint cracking problems. Any suggestions on fit? Thanks
