Wider stock 17" rims? I love the stock rims, but would like to put some wider tires in the back for traction. I know w/ our 8" rims, you cant really put anything else wider then stock back there.

And, if someone does, will I have any problems throwing them on with some wider (but same height) tires? I have stock suspension (04 A4), and would love not to have to roll the fenders.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Tried to search, please dont yell if I missed something.

Thanks.

Tried to search and read posts from the last couple weeks. All I want is to know if anyone makes 17x9 stock replicas. I would love to get two of em for the rear.

Try 'wheel widen', or just 'widening', search terms like that. Try some misspellings too :-). There are only a couple places in the country who can do that well enough for you to not worry about balancing later, but you are going to pay for that quality up front.

You may want to search on dogpile and/or google rather than here too.

I actually just bought a set of widened wheels off another member. They are 17 x 8.75" wheels which will allow me to fit a 275 tire. Seems like the best place to have them done is weldcraft (Michigan area I believe).

If you bought 4, are you willing to sell 2 of them???

Weldcraft did the narrowing of a pair of WS6 rims for me. They also widen wheels. I sent mine in after a couple of other members had their's done. http://www.weldcraftwheels.com
