A buddy of mine is trying to decide between two wheel styles for his Midnight Blue Metallic GTO. Help him out!

Factory 18s in chrome IMO are nicer.
Otherwise, drift Rs
Personally I like a silver wheel on MBM but if I gotta pick between those two I would go with the Chromed ROH Drift-Rs.

On a MBM chrome Drift R's FTW
Why do people like those flower pedals they call a wheel design? :stickpoke
I chose the Factory 18s for two reasons:
1. I just think they look hotter.
2. You can't rotate staggered setups.

I'm afraid I must abstain; I don't like chrome in the slightest. If I absolutely had to choose, however, I'd go with the Drift Rs.

My thoughts also, but the stock 18" also have a thicker spoke. Which in my opinion looks better in chrome on a five mag spoke rim.

You need a third option, "Keep the factory wheels in their original finish". That is the option that would receive my vote.

I like the 18"s painted more than chromed.
But I think a set of polished VZs would look really sweet with MBM.

If that was a consideration of his, then I would have included it. The poll is for the best of the two available choices......the lesser of two evils in your case. ;)

Drift R's just for the wider rears.

er uhmm... with those two choices can he just leave it stock? lol Just lower the car, that will make it look better.
...but seriously! The guy obviously likes chrome so I'd go with the Drift R's simply because they don't have as much flat surface area as the stockers, thus the net effect is less 'in your face'. Chromed stockers would boarder on looking gaudy.. they're fine 'as-is' but chromed? Ick!!

I'm a big fan of the black chrome/shadow chrome/mirror black (whatever you want to call it) look on the dark blue colors, so chrome wouldn't be my first choice, but then again nobody really cares what I want right? :)
Of the two choices, I like the factory 18's better except for the fact that the 18x8's are just too skinny for the rear for me to live with. So, I'm going with the staggered Drift R's...

Is he selling the factory 18's?
If he does, he already has a buyer. ;)

The Drift R's in chrome because he will stand on in a sea of Goats. Who else even has these on their GTO's?

To quote my wife when she first saw Drift Rs, "They look like spiders sucking on the side of the car!" ROFLMFAO!!:gr_jest:
I say for the price of Chromed Drift Rs, send them to one of the many reputable wheel repair dealers and have two of the stocker 18s widened one inch, get'em chromed, get a 5mm spacer and start pimpin'!!:-pimp:

I like both, but if you want a fat rear tire go with the ROHs. Has anybody done a chrome powdercoat? It actually looks like polished aluminum instead of chrome. A lot more suttle and unique.
