Gonna use my 17" OEM wheels for snow tires next winter. When is the best time to get my new tires? Would prices be lower in the winter? When do the new tire designs normally come out? Are new snow tires even available now or will the only stock be the last year's no-sales?
Better start thing about it, it's only 6 months away.

it depends, but prices usually go up at the beginning of winter due to demand. Right now would be your best bet, since most places are trying to get rid of their current stock, but if you wait too long there might not be many left in volume during the summer.

:mswerd: Agreed. It's actually a little late. A month ago would've been a little better, because by now you're going to be looking at the very dustiest ones under a pile of summer tires they just got in.

I have my OEM wheels sitting there. I am also thinking about throwing some Nokian Hakkapeliita's on them just in case I need to drive mine in snow next winter.
