Okay guys,

I'm about to purchase either Beyern 5 chromes or TSW Chrome Vortex wheels. What is the largest width wheel and tire combo (at 17" diameter) that anybody here has under their rearend with out rubbing and without rolling/cutting?

Secondly, I've been considering cutting instead of rolling the rear fender. My concern is that without this lateral bracing the wheel well will be extremely vulnerable to bending/denting. Anyone cut instead of rolled? What do you think about it?

Thanks,

Larry Reese

Cutting the lip out makes the quarter very flexible. Just look how long and flat it is. The lip is a lot of the stability. Tires and wheels are cool, but a good working rear suspension is what causes tires to hook up.

You're not going to find anything other than 17x8. You'll run 245's but can put 275's on the rear.

If you go with 18's, you'll be able to find some 9.5" rims for the rears and put 275's on them. Rolling is easiest and best, IMO.
