Not sure I like the styling of the new VE. From what I've seen it's too European for my liking.

Thats a thoroughly unimpressive picture of that car, not liking the lines at
all...even the shape of the windows look like crap. It looks way too much like
an econobox to me....

I'll wait to see what the final production unit looks like before I pass judgment.

Yee of little faith... I've seen the completed car and it looks fine to me - a lot of Euro-influence on the shapes, but a thoroughly modern re-do of the Commodore concept.
The car (with Pontiac fascias) was also shown to US buyers a couple of years ago and received high marks from those groups. Nothing really avant-guard, but a nice execution.

I guess I am used to the current Commodore body styling and the lines. This thing looks clean. Still think it looks boring. Then I hated the very first Commodore model VB too when they first came out but I ended up having a VB 253 V8 as my second car.

Wait until you see the whole car before forming an opinion; I think you might like it. Its still a Commodore, but it moves the game on in the styling department.

lol @ the comments
Someone called this Commodore another failed attempt at a GTO.
Sorry, pal, turning muscle cars into 4 door family sedans is a Dodge thing, not a widespread trend.
BTW, this link was also there which shows a full picture of the Commodore, or what is supposed to be the Commodore.

I think the front looks a little off in the picture. Could just be the angle, though.

Now we know why GM hasn't officially committed to the next generation.

...especially if they provide the AWD system and make it a $2-3K option as Infiniti has done in the G35. That would bring me back into GM's showroom.

Those pictures are pretty accurate, but don't expect studio quality photos on engineering mules. The car looks good, but it will not set any design trends; rather, it is a pastiche of many current Euro styling efforts.
The intention was to offer AWD on the US version, if there is one, for the prevailing MSRP (about $1500).

The car looks like it was built for midgets... no offense.

No, my eyes say it looks like a number of Euro cars, but not the Passat. Look at the Ford 500 to see a Passat remake.
