Here is some media I took at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday, October 10, 2004, at the Grand Am/Rolex Porsche 250. Pictures, rear and side of car walkaround video, and short highlights clips.

A larger version of the Corvette/GTO battle is here: http://www.ingridirby.com/Coppermine/albums/userpi cs/10001/Barber04GrandAm%20065.jpg
The GTO got the position after pressuring the Vette into a mistake.

So this was a demolition derby then? :)

Oh, probably want to mention to folks that haven't seen this before that it's not *actually* a GTO...It's a frame with a composite (either fiberglass or carbon fiber, both exist) GTO body on it, no different than what you see in NASCAR being called Monte Carlos, for example.

...and with an LS6 instead of an LS1. Wonder if they'll use the LS2 as a basis next year or stick with the LS6. This team bought a GTO in Atlanta and used it as a basis for this build, ripping it to shreads for parts for this car.

Be cool on "looks" like a NASCAR. Far from it. Take a look at the Grand Am GT rules at www.grandamerican.com Reading the rules will offer very definitive and more complex rules than a Nextel/NASCAR
