Good news for all TSW owners that have some wheel shimmy. Many of you know that it has been driving me crazy with a wheel shake at speeds between 60 and 72. My friend made me some hub rings out of billet aluminum and the wheel shake is completely gone. Hopefully the rings you guys have ordered from CSI Jason will give you the same results.

I can not wait to get some proper fitting hubrings. I really would like a nice smooth ride again.

Once I got the proper dimensions down on the TSW rings, these should fit like a glove. Hopefully the machine shop will be able to get them done quickly so I can get them shipped out to people. But yea, having no hub rings makes for no fun when it comes to the shakes.

The problem with my TSW's was due in part to the shitty rings, but also that the diamater of the opening in the wheels were not all the same.

Ummm...? Are you saying that the hub bore was different by wheel?

Glad you got that taken care of.

Yes

That's pretty flippin' serious - are you sure? That'd make it about impossible to get a good set of hubcentric rings.
How much deviation was there between wheels?

They are injection molded plastic and not molded to fit the GTO's hub properly either.
I am having billet aluminum ones made to fit TSW brand wheels and the GTO's hub perfectly. They are also given an anti-corrosion coating to prevent any problems with mixed metals. The finished parts should be in later next month.

This is all so very confusing, I just had my TSW's put on yesterday and then drove it to work and back with no vibration anywhere.
Ran it at 50, 60, 70, and 80 along with the mid numbers of each of those and I could notice nothing. Yes that is a good thing but I really expected the shaking steering wheel. The rings they put on was the 70.3 plastic one.
The Tech that did my car was very good and told me of the brand new balancing machine that they just got. Even showed me how it works. Didn't ask the name of it but I'll try to get it from him when I go back for a retorque today.
Maybe I'm just lucky or something but I do know that the manager of the store said that if the 70.3 didn't work they could special order the 69.5 size.

As far as I am aware, they dont make a 69.5mm size since only our car has that size hub and their is not enough vehicles being made to even warrent them making a mold costing thousands of dollars just for these.

Plastic :barf:
I'll have to stop by the machine shop i worked at for 10 yrs and get 'r done. If i remember correctly 6061 should be a good choice. Some pretty annodizing like you mentioned will look good.

Yep, T6 is a good all around pick.

I am sure. We made 4 hub rings all at the same time, from the same pice of material. # went easily andthe 4th I had to force into the wheel with a rubber mallet. I dont think it is that much of a difference that you have to worry about it. The new rings were slightly wider than the TSW rings. Make sure the tapered end goes toward the hub and the flat end goes into the wheel.

will these only work with the TSWs or might they work with others

I think CSI Jason has some that are made for other wheels.

When I first had my Thruxton's installed, the car shook really bad from 48-58 mph. The shop rebalanced the wheels and it cured the shaking at those speeds, but now I have a slight shake around 75-80, so I'm thinking that it might be the hubrings. Hopefully the rings I ordered from CSI Jason will cure that.

You know what is odd - I had no shake at all when I first installed my wheels with the cheap plastic rings - after removing and installing a second time while I was messing around with the brake hubs I started getting the shakes...
