Alright guys, Im lookin to order a set of Fikse Profil 5s for my GTO and im trying to figure out what would be the perfect offset for my car.

Im planning on running 18" rims and I want to clear 245s up front and 275s in the rear. What offset and rim widths would give me the best clearance possible?
Im stock height now but I plan on lowering it soon with pedders suspension and I want to make sure I have no rubbing issues since I will take it to the track a few times. And since Im spending the money for custom wheels I want the best offset possible.

Thanks in Advance

well stock is 8inch wide and 48mm offset, so anything more then a 48mm offset will cause strut rub... id even stay away from 48 42~45mm offset should be the best with no more then a 245 like you said. now for the back a 9 inch wide would give you a 275 footing and a bit more play in offset, anything wider, you'll close that gap in offsets. not 100% on the rear offset, so I dont want to give you bad advice, but I do know that 275s on a 9 inch rim will need rolling/cutting of the fenders.

In the front I would go with a 38mm to 42mm offset on an 8" wide wheel. In the rear is where problems await, for widths you can go with anything between a 9" and 10" wide wheel, the absolute very least amount of offset you can run would probably be a 45mm, but that is going to require some generous rolling and or cutting, to make it safer I would go for something in the 52mm to 58mm range, I believe the 18"x9" Drift-R's are a 52mm and the 18"x10" CCW's are a 58mm offset.

I would like to lower the rear about an inch, as well as the front, so I really need the offset to be perfect. Will I be able to clear the 275 with this much drop and not have to hack the fenders up?

I dont really want to cut, but if i have to i will, I dont want rubbing issues, and if that means a 265 would be better i guess i will do that. Am i ok going this low with the 275 or should i give up and put a 265?

thanks

I recently purchased a set of FM5's (18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 rear) and was not given a choice of offsets, because Fikse sells only 1/2-inch increments. My only choice was 44.5 mm, but I have owned Fikse's for years and I bought them anyway. I needed to do massive fender rolling, now I cannot lower because of rubbing. I suggest if you are lowering you find a better fitting wheel in this forum.

my quote from fikse right now has them reccomending a +45 up front on the 8" rim and a +57 in the rear on a 9.5" rim

how does that sound?

In front you will cutting it close with a 245, my 235 tire with same offset is about 5 mm from strut. Depends on tire (I have PS2's). Fedders claims to eliminate front strut rubbing with different strut.

Rear should fit, mine have 3/4 inch clearance inside so you should be able to go 1/2 inch more (you will have same outer as me with 1/2 inch larger inner). May rub inner fender on hard bumps but lowering will help kick top of wheel out and decrease chance of rub on inner fender, but will increase chance of rub on outer fender. Either way be prepared to roll outer fender - significantly. Keep in touch I would love to hear if it fits.

The rear sounds perfect but I would go for a lower offset in the front.

Thanks for the help guys,

this is what Im going with
front
18x8 +45 245/40/18
rear
18x9.5 +57 275/35/18

Im gonna go with the FM/5 over the profil 5, I like the face of the wheel a little better and I saved a few bucks in the process. And im doing a black face with polished lips on my black car. It should look pretty good. Ill be sure to post up pics for you guys when I get them on

with that offset I think you'll find the problem in the rear is inner fender rubbing rather than the outer lip. Look up Z06 rims.
front looks ok though.

lowering will help kick top of wheel out and decrease chance of rub on inner fender, but will increase chance of rub on outer fender.

doesn't lowering create the opposite effect?

I assumed a Pedders lowering package that contains a rear camber kit which corrects the negative camber problem created by lowering. ssilverado60 are you going with Pedders?

Yes I think I am going with the pedders kit. not 100% sure yet but thats what im leaning towards
