Snow Tire 225/55/17

Anyone run a snow tire (or normal) with the size of 225/55/17? I did the math, and the tire is about 1/2 inch taller than stock. Any forseen problems with running a thinner/taller tire?

I had read/heard that a thinner tire is better in the snow (as well as mud).

Those would be fine in the back but up front your going to bump into the strut housing that is so commonly talked about. 225/45/17 is the way to go its what i have.
