I rolled the rear fenders and don’t have any rubbing where I rolled. But where the bumper meets the fender it will rub on large bumps or when someone is riding in the back. I ordered a set of Pedders no drop rear springs to take care of the slight rubbing I’m getting....grinding/trimming wasn’t enough. Plus I wouldn’t mind if the rear was raised slightly. Springs installed http://www.ls2gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8520 0

Those are just damn good looking wheels. I'm not normally a fan of 19's on a GTO but those are just too mean looking. Staggered is the only way to go with 19's. Looking good man!

You could, but where I rolled the fenders from say 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock it doesn’t rub. The rubbing occurs where the rear bumper meets the fender. The tires make contact with about 1 inch of the fender and .5 inch of the bumper cover. I tired to reroll that area but the metal is too rigid, so I grinded that area as far out as I felt comfortable going. Without passengers rubbing is rare, but it will hit in some cases, with passengers it’s pretty frequent. When holding the brake and loading the rear suspension I can see the tires clear the fenders on both sides except the area that I stated. I’ve always thought the rear sat a little low, so this is a good excuse to get the springs.:)

I'm surprised the 19s don't look too big. I think they'd look real good on my PBM ;)
A nice far away parking lot pic would be cool :D

WOW! I've been looking to get wheels abd these are in a good price range. Where did you get them from, wheelmax? Did you get the 19x8.5 all around or did you get 19x9.5 in the rear?

I would imagine with the springs and drag bags you won’t have any issues with the 35 series rubbing. But to be honest the 30 series aren’t bad, the ride is a little harsher, but definitely not rough.
I just realized my 275's are 35 series...could be cause for the rubbing Im experiencing

Those look pretty sweet.
Do they make any 18's that are deep dished like that? 19's are just to big for my liking. Even though they look great on your car.

I think he just got some 18's, but I dont think the lip would be as deep as the 19's

Looks great on Red. Can't wait to get mine!
Is it a fact that the pedders springs with no drop raise the rear a little? I will be in Colorado at the end of the month and might make a stop at Rhett's Auto to either raise the rear or drop the front. Just to make it look equal front and back.

From everyone I've talked to thats what I've been told, plus they are a stiffer spring.

Thanks for your input. I think if I trim and still have rub issues I will put the pedderes out back. If they don't rub I'll lower the front to match the rear (damn audio systems).
So how long did it take to get your wheels from the time you ordered them?
The Beast
06-05-2006, 05:54 PM
No problem. It took a little over 2 weeks, but memorial weekend fell within that time. Otherwise it probably would have been right at 2 weeks.

Hey guys, I just wanted to stop by and say...THOSE LOOK FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! :D
I swear I never get tired of looking at these wheels! They're just so slick...
For anyone interested, we DO HAVE THEM 18" STAGGERED SETS!!! AND THE DEEP DISH IS THE SAME SIZE! The reason the depth of lip doesn't change is because there is no change in width from the 19's to 18's ;)
We only have 5 left in stock right now though, and they're going fast (we got 15 in on Friday  )
Feel free to PM, Email, or call us. Our hours are 10am-7pm EST, but I usually work late and can take your calls.
Oh yeah almost forgot...WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE LOWEST PRICES FOR YOU GUYS! Just my way of saying thank you for supporting us. :)

That's awesome cause I would actually prefer 18's but really like the deep dish. Do the 18 inch AZA Z-1's have the same rubbing issues as the 19's? Do you still have to roll the rear fenders because of the width of the wheel?

I am interested in this question too. I would like to go with the 19s, I just dont know if I can find someone here to cut the fenders and install some springs. I do like the look with the new springs installed though. The rear end is up a little, makes it look good!

Rolling and trimming the fenders really not very difficult, just take your time. The rear springs were very easy to install, it only takes about an hour and a half, and if you had someone to assist you, it would make it even easier.
