I just saw this - Did you know GMPartsDirect.com has Wheels for the GTO?

Check it out here…

Just a wee bit pricey – but they do include performance tires

My dealer had the FZ6's on my car when I test drove it. He told me he'd charge me their cost of $2200 for them (which seems inline with the GMPP price). He didn't mention a warranty with them though. They still did not look aggressive enough for me, especially for the price. I'm much happier with my ROH's for less money and more aggressive look.

Well I guess that explains why we keep seeing these wheels on GTOs around this board.

I wonder what tires they come with (not size, but brand)?

EDIT

I emailed GMPD so we'll see what they say about the kind of tires they come with.

Where did you find that at?

Is that all they sell for the GTO?

Thanks

eh...neither of them are to my liking.

The first one is ok, but not really to my liking. It is 11lbs lighter per corner than the stock wheel/tire setup.

From the GMPartDirect.com front page…
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

...there is a ‘Wheels’ tab at the top right.

I do not believe there is a way to pull up only all the GTO parts available.

BTW - I have seen the first one in person - It does look nicer then the pic.

they had the first one on a red one around here, and they wanted $3000 or something for the wheel/tire package. They had 245/40/18 nitto's, and I thought they looked really good, but 3k was kinda steep.

parts direct has a horrible search engine...you can only search by part #.

I have the second wheel pictured...mc2ning FZ10 18x8. Mine were installed on the car with Nitto Extreme 245/40/ZR18 skins when I purchased it. They do have a 3 year warranty from the the dealer(GM ?) and they were listed as an option on a special option sticker in the window...$3000. Of course I didn't pay that...got them for $1700 plus I had the dealer throw in the stockers with tires.

Overall I think that was a pretty good deal...

agreed. which is why i dont even bother shopping there. if a website is difficult to navigate my interest wanes quickly.

I have the top ones. The dealer charged me $1200, although when we closed the deal he said that he "lost money on the deal". He did through in the stock rims/tires (which are falken 245/40 18in.). I am starting to have 2nd thoughts on the wheels, alittle too flashy with the chrome. I may be selling them soon and ordering the Coddington wheels. BTW, the sticker on the wheels was $3900. give me a break.

Well now I know where my wheels came from. I got the top ones, MC2, they were on the car when I first saw it. After telling them I didn't want chrome wheels on the car and wouldn't pay for them, they offered them for $500. So I took them. I'm having second thoughts too. I think I'ld rather have the Drift R wheels.

Seems like a lot of dealers are putting these wheels on the cars. A local dealer is putting both style wheels with Nitto tires on the cars. They are charging $2999. I'm curious as to how these wheels fit. Has anybody experienced any rubbing. They look to be a tight fit. I'm not sure what MC2's relationship is with GM. They're not exactly OEM, but I guess they are being sold as dealer installed with a full warranty. Does the dealer get them through GM parts or through as aftermarket supplier? IMHO, they are a bit too flashy. If I decide to get 18's, I'll probably go with a set of CV8-R or CV8 Series III wheels from Oz for less money.

CV8 rims run around $2k w/o tires. these are about $2500 w/ tires

I have not priced them myself, but I believe JCMGTO got his Series III wheels for $985 plus $390 for air shipping. JCMGTO or GTPrix, you guys want to comment on this? And yes I believe this price was w/o tires. I guess figure about $500-$900 for tires depending on brand. I might also look at the HSV style rims that SLP has been advertising for $1199. The MC2 wheels might be a decent deal if you can negotiate with the dealer like it looks like some of the guys did.

I'd like to see those on the car. Any chance you're going to be around Shawnee Mission Parkway and Quivira next week?

Detail Dude, did you get your car at Andy Klein? That's the dealer I was referring to when I said the local dealer was putting these wheels on.

MatadorRed69 -
Yes, I did get the car at Andy Klein...they had a red one with the FZ6(the top style) wheels and my Impulse Blue with the FZ10(the bottom style). You mentioned earlier in this post about fitment. These wheels are spot on and I've experienced no rubbing whatsoever. As much as I like these rims I hope they don't become the AE 077 of the GTO world. Man those rims seem to be on about every 5th GP you see.

Klein now has a red one with the stock rims that have been chromed. Damn, do they look nice :)

ChrisbeQuick -

I work at 98th and Renner so a quick drive into Shawnee Mission Pkwy/Quivira is very doable. Shoot me an email or pm and let me know when/where you wish to hook up....

see that's a hell of a deal, especially if u get to keep ur stockers for either winter wheels or to sell them outright!

I dont have a close up, but I can take one in the next day or so. I will post it when I do. It has been raining so they are kinda dirty :barf: I will need to clean them up prior to the pic
