So I have an opportunity to get nittos on all four corners. My question is, what tire arrangement is best? Given all tires are 245/40/R17.
1) 555r's all around
2) 555r's on rear, and 555's on front
3) 555r2's all around
4) 555r's on rear and 555r2's on the front

I was thinking 555R's all the way around. However the goat is my DD during the summer (little rain), and my only concern of the 555R's is the cornering abilities of this tire; associated with daily driving. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

street tires in the front, DRs out back

Get the regular 555's on the front and the 555R's on the back. I can't comment on the R2's. Also, get 245/45, not 40 series, no point in getting a lower profile.

R2's are the same tread as R's but with a stiffer sidewall...they're a DR equivalent of an auto-x tire. Don't put them out back at least, they don't wrinkle like R's do.
