What tire pressures are you guys running. I have the stock 18's on my car and the sticker on the door jam say's run the front at 33 and the rear at 39. Why two pressures?

I'd also like to see some replies to that question. I have mine set at the factory specs, but I've only got 96 miles on her so I'm not too sure how I like it just yet.
more load in the rear, so higher PSI...
I was always told 1 PSI for every 100 lbs, so I keep mine between 36-38...

I run what the sticker says seems to work fine. And make sure you do check that pressure. I got my goat like 3 days ago and from the dealership all tires were at 60 psi. Absolutely ridiculous. I raised hell after I checked it at my work. Dumb asse's.

dealerships put more air in the tires because the car will turn easier at low speed...like in the parking lot...boneheads! lol
Correct tire pressure is your tires best friend!

the 39 and the 33 are for a loaded vehicle you can run 33 all the way around.

Tires were set at 60 for shipping. Check the owners manual for correct pressures. I think normal driving=33 & hipo=39. That was in the manual or somewhere else???
Have fun with the new 06.

there is no more load at the rear. reason for 33/39 is liability. more air in the rear creates understeer. thus safer for average driver. for more neutral handling. go with same tire pressure all way around.
Why two pressures?
Did you noticed it says COLD tire pressure? Set it early in the morning when car is cold, run it around for half an hour and recheck it again and you’ll get your answers...

I read this today. In an unloaded car, meaning passengers and cargo less than 470 lbs, the owners manual says 33psi all around. If you intend to carry more cargo weight, then it's 33-front and 39-rear. For high speed driving, it is recommended to raise pressure an additional 3psi above the previously stated pressures, accounting for weight. So 36-36 or 36-42, IIRC.

Close...more air in the rear creates oversteer all else being equal; but the 33 in the front is so low as to mush out and override the rear characteristic. (Try runnng 45 in the rear to see what I mean. Spin crazy baby!)
For me, I run 35 Front, 39 Rear as a day to day setting.:burnout: Tweak to your desired handling.;)

Either way there is no reason for any buyer to recieve their car like that. I can only imagine a humongous law suit if one of those things were to blow out. It's called taking care of the customer. If the car sells it get's washed and get's a once over and that should include checking air pressure. Not getting mad at you guys but venting that it wasn't takin' care of at my dealer.
I'm already not to fond of my dealership. Because my goat has to go back because of scratches in the paint and the roof being completely messed. Possibly from those white paper's they put on during shipping, not to sure.
I guess I'm just venting, sorry for the off topic.

On my '06, the door sticker says 35 psi front and rear. I checked my tires and they showed 40 psi. The tires sat for 4 hours after a 26 mile drive in 85 degree weather when I took the reading. Is that a true cold tire pressure or not? Probably not but I will consider contrary opinions.

32 all around - checked cold, and after 1200 miles, still 32 all around, including NUMEROUS sideways burnouts...many including third gear as well !
Yes, 32 will offer less mileage and tire-life (marginal), but it seems to ride smoother, and stick well.
Less air=better handling/traction. = Less tread life.
60 is downright unsafe for handling, braking, and blowouts.

i had my tires over inflated and didnt check until after a few weeks after i bought my goat home. i actually felt a difference when i corrected the tire pressure.... crazy huh?

33 front/37 rear - and I used this on an auto-x run w the tires crayoned. Looked fine after all 5 runs to me, though the fronts were getting onto the sidewall minimally...
