What kind of sizes are people fitting on the stock 18's for drag radials and what brand? I have had better luck in the past with Nittos over BFG's- but I hear the opposite quite often and I also heard MT has a good drag radial now too, but didn't see an 18 listed. Any input here? Thanks.

Depends on what you want. Nitto's about useless as a DR, but slightly better than a regular street tire and they last decent. BFG's are far and away better at the track, but the wear is very poor. Haven't got anything to give on the Mickey's as I haven't tried them and nobody I know has tried them yet.

My BFG's on the Cobra hook incredibly well (315/35-17) even on the street, which my stockers sure couldn't claim. Sounds goofy to say out loud, but it's not as much fun anymore on the steet!! You know how sometimes you just want to scare the poor ricer beside you without actually racing. Well a little quick tire smoke accomplishes this...much harder to do with the BFG's on!!

Also something to think about. My 315's are wider by about 3/4" (Total 12-3/4") than comparable 315's, so if your tight on clearance you may want to check into it. But I haven't checked into the other sizes, so maybe the other sizes are closer to the standard...BUT CHECK!!

See, that is what I have been hearing- the BFG's hook much better than the Nittos, but I ran both on my 89 Turbo TA and the BFG's hooked horribly compared to the Nittos, go figure lol. I'll probably go with the BFG's and cut down on my daily driving with the car a bit or maybe just pick up a pair of stock rims to mount them on.

Had the MT's (275) on 15" and now have the BFG's(275) on 18" and I think the BFGs hook better!

Thanks- that was going to be my next question- who has run them on 18's and if I should do that or just pick up some 15's to put tires on.

Did you have to do any rolling for the 275's?

This is how it goes imo

MT's>BFG's>Nittos>streettire

yup, that's what I have been hearing lately also, I just can't believe my experience with the nittos vs. BFG's was opposite everyone else's. Now this was all on the street for themost part, so maybe the nittos were better on the street while BFG's are better at the track? WIth my Nittos, I would just pull up to the line and go (even at the track now that I think about it), no burnout at all and it just hooked and went. With my BFG's, I would have to boil the hell out of them to get them to hook and when they did, it still wasn't as good as my Nittos. Who knows.

Does MT make 18's? I couldn't find them. I did want to try them out though since I have been hearing so much about them.
