will zo6 wheels fit the gto
I had checked into those wheels earlier in the year, the sales guy says they are made in a bolt pattern that will fit the GTO but that the center cap would be a corvette type center cap. He did say thay it is available in 17's & 18's. Not 100% sure but I think they were by a company called Dante Wheels check the web. I just decided to get my factory wheels chromed and I must say they look GREAT!!!

will zo6 wheels fit the gto
I am willing to say that they most likely will not due to the fact that OEM Z06 wheels are 10.5 in the rear and from what I have read here, that is simply too wide for the goats rear.
On the flip side, somebody please tell me I am wrong. I have an '02 Z06 that I have been wanting to get a set of chrome 18 and 19's on...and if I can transfer my current wheels to my red goat...

There was one guy who put a pair of WS6 rims on the rear of his GTO. They are not the correct bolt pattern, but do fit...but there are debates on whether they will put to much stress on the wheel studs. They will not fit on the front because they are 9.5" and are way too wide. 10.5" will definatley not fit.
I would love for a company to produce ZO6's for the GTO because I think those would look hot!

if i had the time, i would, but in all honesty, i really dont think it would work. BUT, i do know that the dimensions of the ZO6 wheels are:
front: 17 X 9.5
rear: 18 X 10.5
unfortunately, too big for the goat...looks like i will be purchasing TWO sets of wheels...

Z06 fronts are actually 17X9.5, not 17X8.5 :)

my apologies...you are correct (it was late), either way, i am pretty sure one would have problems with the rears. AGAIN, if somebody wants to prove me wrong, please do, it would save me a set of wheels :)
BTW, i edited the post to reflect the correct dimensions :)
Also, WS6 wheels are 17x9 :)

the ws6 wheels are nice, but the ZO6 wheels would look GREAT...especially on a torrid red.

17x8.5 with a 58mm offset using stock tire size?
i believe someone also has pontiac center caps available for these wheels.
anybody know what is the offset of our stock 17x8 wheels?

Stock wheel is 17 x8 with a 48 mm offset. The 17 x 8.5 would have to be about 42 mm offset ( I think I am going the right way) to keep the inside of the tire at the same place. Any more offset, and the tire gets closer to the front strut, and they are damn close already.

Our local Pontiac dealer had a set of chromed 17x8.5 C5 narrow spokes mounted on a Black GTO on the lot when we were shopping for my brother's goat. It looked sweet as could be, so walked over to check it out and the rear tires were scuffed pretty badly from the fender lip...I just walked away at that point without investigating the front, since it won't work on the rear.

thing is with a 58mm offset, the wheels should be closer to the inner components and farther away from the lip. those wheels must have been a different offset. i have seen corvette replica wheels made in a variety of offsets and widths. i would think the 17x8.5 58mm offset would work fine in back(at least with stock rubber)-the question would be the front according to the discount fitment guide.
or i'm am i seeing this the wrong way? 48mm= almost 1 7/8", so a 8" wheel would be 1 7/8" out and 6 1/8" in ? then if that is correct a 8.5" 58mm wheel should be 2 1/4" out and 6 1/4" in or very close to that? it would appear then that it would be 1/8" closer to inside components and 3/8" closer to fender lip than a stock wheel? so maybe a 1/8" spacer in front? this is confusing :banghead:
or does the offset mean that you split the wheel width in half and then add the offset to the inside or what we used to call the backspacing? if that is the case then the backspacing of stock wheel is 5 7/8" and a 8.5 58mm wheel backspacing is 6.5", which then would be almost 5/8" farther inside= not good in front.
which of these senario's is correct???????

This one.
And your right about the front. The stock os is 45mm. With the stock tire and rim it rubs the shock tower now! There's no way the tire would fit with an os of 58.

Bolt pattern (Pitch) diameter is 120mm on the GTO wheels which is metric. IIRC, the Corvette is imperial and different
