The smoothie 2s are nice. I had them on my lowered '98 LS1 Formula and they looked killer. As nice as they are, I have to warn you, they are a major pita to keep clean. The wheels have a channel in the center that traps water and that was always driving me nuts. I used to get a lot of compliments on them though when they were clean!

Really nice look.

Does make the brake rotors look tiny.

Unfortunately Boyd put a +48 offset on the rears and they rubbed, so I rolled the fenders. Boyd was willing to make another pair but I was tired of waiting. It's been about three months already. I think a +55 would be a perfect offset for these on the rear and Boyd could definately do that.

It doesn't make them look tiny but bigger ones would definately look better :D

Now those are the kinda wheels that look good on the GTO. Most of the others I've seen are just to "import" looking. These give that GTO the muscle car look.

those are definitly the wheels i want but i dont want to hassle with rolling the fender lip.

Thanks Nikivee, that is the look I was going for. These wheels can be made with enough offset that they wont rub. I just let my lack of patience make the decision to roll the fenders.

Todd@ProDynoTempe

18x8 with 245-40s and 18x9 with 275-35-18 drags

What offsets, Todd, and did you have to do anything to prevent rubbing in back? Looks really sweet...

Todd@ProDynoTempe

they are +43 all around with the rear rolled. The 275 nitto drag runs a lil small, but we did it as a precaution. lil higher offset woulda been better

I'm with Kenny. I have smoothie II's on my '03 Lightning. That channel is a PITA. Brake dust collects, water gets in and stays in. You clean the wheel, and when you drive it spins the brake dust/water all over the wheels. I carry a towell behind the seat so I can soak up that water in the channel to keep the wheels from water spotting. The wheels look really sweet when they're clean though. :)

Looks sweet I want the same thing only witht the grey powder coated center. Did you have to have Boyd's custom drill the bolt pattern? I looked on their site and didn't see the Smoothies offed in 5x120.

Yea, they are custom drilled...and I considered the powdercoated grey as well. They look gorgeous in person.

they look like 19s b/c they use a 19" center with reverse wheel construction to get the large smooth lip. they are avail from many sources besides direct from boyd for a less money.

look sweet on the gto!

I had a set of them on my 02 Lightning as well. They do look great, but I was not impressed with the quality control of the wheels especially for the cost of the wheel. The inside of the rim was full of slag and the factory polishing was imho lacked professionalism. It's a great look though! I found a great aluminum polish to keep em looking good. ;)

Very nice - they look great on the IMB as well. I must say, I do like chrome wheels the best of all. Good choice! :)
