FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE
1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a
subject.
2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the
phone.
3. Colt: The original point and click interface.
4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about
control.
5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?
6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause
misspelled words.
7. "Free" men do not ask permission to bear arms.
8. If you don't know your rights you don't have
any.
9. Those who trade liberty for security have
neither.
10. The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "=" />United States Constitution (c) 1791. All
Rights reserved.
11. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you
not understand?
12. The Second Amendment is in place in case the
politicians ignore the others.
13. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one
yesterday.
14. Guns only have two enemies: rust and
politicians.
15. Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns,
no peace, no safety.
16. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay
alive.
17. 911 - government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.
18. Assault is a behavior, not a device.
19. Criminals love gun control -- it makes their
jobs safer.
20. If guns cause crime, then matches cause
arson.
21. Only a government that is afraid of its
citizens tries to control them.
22. You only have the rights you are willing to
fight for.
23. Enforce the "gun control laws" we ALREADY
have, don't make more.
24. When you remove the people's right to bear
arms, you create slaves.
25. The American Revolution would never have
happened with gun control.
26. "A government of the people, by the people,
for the people..."

Excellent. I had never heard any else express #12 "The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others. " It is funny that, according to the "gun control advocates" everything in the bill of rights is to protect us from the government except, the second amendment.

While I understand that your post has some "tongue in cheek" observations I had to make mention of this one:
17. 911 - government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.
As a Communications Officer for a police department I handle 911 calls on a daily basis. Here in Rhode Island we have the most sophisticated 911 system in the country (yes its true RI is on the leading edge of something other than organized crime and clams!)
Now I know that in many large cities the 911 system has some big flaws but its still a good system and its constantly moving toward more enhancements that will make it better.
So please dont think that it's merely "dial a prayer" when it does work and save lives.
In addition, I am also an Armed SWAT medic so if you call 911 and get me I can personally come to your house, shoot the intruder, and patch him up so he is healthy when they give him the needle ;)
Didnt mean to rain on your post and I agree with almost all of it. I just dislike the perpetuation of 911 being useless when there are many of us working to make it great.
Thanks!

Or so he can come back to sue you or the homeowner....shoot to kill, its
more efficient. ;)

The basic problem with Constitutional amendments is this: they limit Congress, but not States.
Thus, while Congress cannot infringe upon your rights to bear arms, the states are free to do so.
This is a flaw in our Constitution, brought about by a few bickering men involved in its original drafting.
Congress has never fixed that.

Yep. Try getting a license to carry in Rhode Island. You'd have better luck getting Mel Gibson an invite to the next Rabbi convention.

While I dont dissagree with you in that 911 helps a whole heck of a lot, if someone is trying to break in and is threatening you and your loved ones, by the time 911 responds to your call and gets to the scene, you could already be dead or attacked and injured and the assailent gone (unless a cop just happens to be in your area). Whereas if you are armed you just blow him away and the world bennefits because A.) That POS is off the streets, B.) he cant do any more harms so you have saved others from would be future attacks, C.) You saved your own arse and those who are with you... All within a minute or two's time.
Not dissagreein with you, just saying that 911 is something to be used in conjunction with a firearm, not as a replacement for it. Just my opinion though.

Love it! In my house 911 will probably be used to tell them I already took care of the problem and they need to send someone to clean it up. I refuse to be a helpless victim relying on anyone else if my home and family are in danger.

DPD (Dallas Police Department) has a response time of about .45 min. for most calls. I don't have that long to wait if someone wants to do me harm. 911 is fine if your sick or hurt, but pretty much useless if someone is breaking into your house.

Amazing how Liberals have repeatedly EXPANDED the scope of the 1st Amendment so that now we have a portrait of the Madonna smeared with elephant dung and decorated with porn that gets to be called "art" AND we get to subsidize the "artist". But they have done EVERYTHING they can to LIMIT the 2nd Amendment. How long do they think they will get to hold onto all the priviledges of the 1st Amendment when the 2nd is finally gutted? Thomas Jefferson EXPRESSLY stated in no uncertain terms that the purpose of an armed populace was to keep its government in line.

Gotta love this one:
19. Criminals love gun control -- it makes their

Sadly its very true too. So many people out there think we need gun control. They don't realize that criminals don't get them "legally" like the rest of us. That's like going into a club with metal detectors. Sure, you're safe inside, but what happens when you go outside where everyone is acting a fool?
While we are on the subject of firearms.....here is a guy that needs to be removed from the gene pool!

dont' carry a gun unless you know how to use it, don't pull a gun if you don't intend to shoot it, and don't shoot unless you aim center mass. I think I was about five when my dad taught me those rules, and they have served me well enough. As the old saying goes, better to be tried by twelve than carried by six, this house protected by me, or the wife or the kids, whoever gets the first clean shot!!

I think everyone has the rght to arm themselves. In this crazy world today can you imagine if your city got hit like NOLA got hit with a hurricane and the people went nuts? If that happened by me you would have to get through 10000 rounds to get into my house or shop you.

Great post. I love it. Unfortunatly, I think our constitutional rights have been tossed to the way side. The Ventura County Sherif told me the only way I can get a concealed carry permit is if I own a large buisness or if my life has been threatened followed by legal action. BS. I can't wait to move back to Colorado.

That is exactly why I live in AZ! This is the Buckwild West. I have had a CCW Permit for 7+ years now. While I don't carry a gun all of the time, I can when I want. I ALWAYS carry a concealed knife. The permit covers me for that too.
8. If you don't know your rights you don't have any.
This is the ultimate truth! Know your rights.

Here in Washington (total blue) you can get a CPL (Concealed Pistol License) by filling out an application and passing a fingerprint check.
