No pistols tho.

Glocks don't care what ammo you use.I like Hydra-Shock for car or home, and regular Federal on the range. If you go for the cheapie stuff to plink with, Wolf has worked out well for me.Nice piece.
P220 is the best handgun out there, IMO>>USP didn't feel right, I HATE safe-action triggers, custom 1911 style .45s are great on the range but picky,Walther is only 9 and .40 and blocky--what'd I miss?

the XD is unreal man. it's our "house gun"... as you know, 13 round capacity.. and there is vertually no recoil at all... heavy? hell yes.... but man..i tell ya, you can shoot that gun all day, its very consistant, and with that minimal recoil, rapid round placement will amaze you!
breaks down and cleans very easily too. I use gun silk for the sliding parts.
I would not run wolf ammo thru my kimber, the polyemers are ok, like you said.. hell..you can jump in the ocean, climb out and smoke the bad guys 5 hrs later with the poly guns......LOL

I'm going to be buying a new .22LR rifle soon (Ruger 10/22 to customize), as well as a Springfield Armory 1911 (I'm torn between the Loaded Champion in Green/Black and the Loaded Full Size in Black Stainless).

Oooh, fantastic choices both. My first handgun was a P229 in .40S&W, and it's still my absolute favorite gun. It's like Sig took a mold of my hand and designed it just for me. Plus it's accurate as hell and pretty damn reliable.
But when it comes to carry, I'm more of a Glock guy. I've got a G21 and G36. The G36 is a great little carry gun, but I don't really enjoy shooting it. A friend of mine uses a G29 with the G20 mags, which seems to be to be just about the perfect package. I'm gonna have to get me one of them sooner or later, he really sold me on it.

actually one of the most accurate 1911s I ever owned was a Kimber 9mm.
but I agree for knockdown power the .45 is tops.

I beg to differ!!! They made us use Blazer ammo at the academy and the gun jammed left and right..... Then they told us if something broke, not to tell glock we were shooting Blazer. Gotta love the State of Illinois :slap:
but, to TOP, I have a Glock 22 (.40) and a KelTec .380. Had a Glock 27?.. can't remember, the baby Glock in .40, but sold it cause it was still too big for heavy concealment. ANYWAYS... I love my Glock and I got the lazermax interal laser sight, the night sights and the rubberized grip. It makes for a very nice duty weapon.
My KelTec is a nice little personal protection gun that is very easy to hide. That one is alot harder to shoot though cause of the power vs. weight on it.

Just make sure you only use jacketed bullets in the Glock. No lead bullets. The polygonal rifling will lead badly over time causing a potential K-BOOM.:bomb:

It has been flawless but for two things. First, it does NOT like Winchester X22LRPP "Power Points". It works beautifully with Federal and Remington bulk from Walmart, CCI Minimags, and Federal 840 Gameshok. Second is that it's a little difficult to put back together after removing the slide for cleaning, but that's just something you have to get used to (it's because the barrel is fixed to the frame and the slide rides over it unlike a typical semi-auto handgun).

How many guns do I have? Let's see... One of each!!!:judge:
LOL... your first gun, but not your last...
Wait until you go to a gunshop to buy ammo and see that "just gotta have" gun in the case. Or, when you decide maybe I should get a 22 for cheap practice. And that Mauser in the surplus rack is only $90!
Let's see... I have a G17, G23, G27, Sig 226, Colt Gold Cup, S&W 19, Walther P22T, and a bunch of other stuff....
If this is a new in box Glock that you are getting do not clean off the gold colored stuff you'll find on the slide and rails... it's a break in lube.
When you do clean it, and your not going to completely disassemble the firearm (which many do not do anyway), clean the slide with the muzzle facing down so you don't load up the firing pin area with Gun Scrubber and other crap.

How's the .45 GAP round compare to .45 ACP in your opinion??
From what I've read, the ballistics are almost identical. Most major ammo manufacturers are offering the .45 GAP in weights up to 230gr. The advantage of the Model 37 in the Glock is that the grip on the frame is smaller than the Glock frame offered in .45 ACP (Model 37 same frame size as that offered on the 9mm and 40S&W, but with a slightly thicker slide).

i still feel the gap is lower velocity and not as much "punch".... having shot the two for years..... kinda like a .380 vs a 9mm...but not quite the extreme.

WD: that may have been the case when the cartridge first made its debut, but now that the big ammo manufactures have picked it up (Remington, Federal, Winchester, etc.), this is simply not the case. Check out this link for Remington Law Enforcement comparing their two loads in 230gr: Remington LE Ammo Ballistics (http://www.remingtonle.com/ammo/prballistics.htm)

Interesting ballistics chart[s].I'm not going to buy a glock, but curious about the new round. So glock redesigned the ACP cartridge to be better suited to their pistol design? with ballistics so similar, why produce a new cartridge?how much more $ a box?
speaking of .45 "punch"; I noticed that my double taps are more controlled and accurate with Sig vs. the Kimber with the same ammo, although that is purely a range exercise witha .45---double taps aren't necessary.

Basically Glock shortened/beefed up the case, and...the .45 GAP was born. Shortened case equates to smaller grip frame (same size as their 9mm and 40S&W), which apparently was in demand within the LE community (for those that prefer the smaller frame vs. the standard Glock .45ACP frame which is wider front to back). And yes, the .45GAP ammo will cost you more than your usual .45ACP equivalent.
