Hey there...I just bought a 05 GTO M6 with these wheels on it. Are these a factory option? I have searched around the forum, and haven't found any 18"s like these with the pontiac logo. Any help would be great!

They definitely are factory. I think they are AZA's, but not 100% sure

MC2 (or MC squared)

They were an option on the late '04s. Some people (like you) got the '05 hood as well.

This car is an 05....unless the title and the dealership lied to me. Seems kind of odd for an 05 to have 04 wheels. I did buy it slightly used, so maybe the original owner liked the 04 wheels better. Thanks guys!

Wow!! Never knew they were an option, always thought it was an aftermarket wheel.

Thanks for the info Lothar, and correcting me :)

Let's clarify the term option here, as in "dealer installed option." I don't think these were actual factory option wheels. The only GTO options from the factory were a 6-speed transmission and 18" (not these 18") wheels.

Oh. It looked in your avatar pic like it was Barbados Blue, but I guess it's not.

Yeah, when I said "option" I meant "dealer option". AFAIK you couldn't order those wheels on the car from Oz. And I was also under the impression that they only went on '04s, but I guess the dealers can do whatever they want.

I don't think they are factory wheels at all. Appear to be aftermarket rims with a Pontiac logo center cap. One thing for certain is that they are definitely not factory GTO wheels for ANY year!!!

They were/are dealer installed optional wheels, there where 3 different 18 chrome wheels that could have been purchased either thru a dealer or GMpartsdirect.com

Mostly only 2004's have these since in 2004 there was no factory 18" option.

It was exterior/interior colors (some having black as only interior choice) and transmission manual or auto. That's it.

These wheels are made by an aftermarket company. Only designed for the 2004+ GTO. They were a dealer installed item. If the dealers had extras in stock, they would place them on 05's. MC2 was the original company that made them. Not sure of the current company that bought the design.

Thanks for the input. Sorry 06ImpulseBlueGTO, they're not for sale. These wheels are one of the reasons I bought this goat! I wasn't a big fan of the flower petal wheels!

I had these wheels on my 04 when I picked it up. They are of horrible quality, great looking, but quality control was/is crap. I got my money back after a year and a half, 5 sets of rims and tires, and 14,000k later. Oh btw I do not abuse my car at all, so it was the wheels, and not me. Just my .02. Other than that a great looking wheel.

Mine still look new after 1 1/2 years. Of course my car isn't a DD so I'm sure that helps.

My dealer offered me those wheels for $2800.00. Needless to say I said no.

I use mine two to three times a week. The wheels come off in the winter. The car is stored with stock rims. Wht am I having pealing problems, and pitting? BTW, I wash my car, and deatail the wheels every week. Brake dust is not an issue.

yeah there was another "optional" wheel I used to see on the local GTOs sitting on the lots, it was a really slick looking wheel with the billet around the outside........i used to see a ton of these wheels now I never see them. anybody know which ones i'm talking about?
