The dead pedal is an obvious problem, but the poor relative positions of the brake and accelerator pedals is a REAL problem for those of us who need to heel-toe. To my size 9 1/2 foot the gas pedal is too far away and too close to the floor. Has anybody figured a way to fix this? Any of you aftermarket companies wanna a make a buck or too?

Can I get these straight from HSV? How? Is that a dead pedal or just a cover? BTW, thanks for the lead.

I am sure that if you contact a distributor down under they will sell them to you. Look at some of the sellers on the aussie ebay. Find the ones that will ship world wide and ask them about the pedals, I am sure they will be able to find them, or buy them from the seller and ship them over.

If you look one the auction one of the pictures is instructions upon how to mount them. They are actual pedal pads, not covers. I really want a set but am waiting to get a set with other things to offset the shipping charges.

I finally got down in there and made some measurements to back up my subjective sense that the new GTO sucks for heel-toe. And whereas the minimum distance between brake and gas pedals is about 2 inches in my Z06 and my 328is, it is at least 3 1/2 inches in the GTO! The height difference is also about a 1/2 inch more in the GTO. I'm thinking that the HSV pedals won't actually alter this unfavorable geometry. Looks like I'm going to have to fab something! Hope I don't F it up.

Why would you want to chase away someone offering to help us by doing something at cost, particularly if none of our vendors offer any solutions? There have been lots of individuals sell little knick knacks here out of the spirit of community, with no profit motive, who are just trying to be helpful. Lighten up, dude.

BGG - I have been ripping my hair out trying to find pedals that are track-worthy. I ordered a set of the HSV pedals for our SEMA car. The dead pedal is perfect size. However, the brake pedal is too small for heel-toe and the rubber in the center doesn't grab the bottom of your shoe like the raised metal pedals do.

I have been trying different pedals over the past few months with little luck. But, I finally found a larger size set from Isotta and ordered them. If they work, I will post it in new products.

According to the latest Car and Driver, the '05 they tested STILL did not have a dead pedal and STILL would not heel/toe! (4.8sec to 60, 11.7sec to 100, 13.3 @107, blew the Slostang off the track but still lost the comparo!)

So, I finally went ahead and solved the problem myself. I fabbed a "wing" out of 1/4" aluminum plate (about 8cm x 5cm), drilled three holes thru the gas pedal, bolted the plate to the LOWER part of the pedal, and added dots of no-slip tape. The placement is perfect for heel-toe now. (NOTE: adding a wing to the upper part of the pedal is a BAD idea. Blipping the throttle here cause the pedal to swivel not depress. Get down in there and see for yourself.) The hardest part was finding three adequate places to drill holes thru the pedal and still fit the nuts/washers on the back. Its not just a flat surface back there. It actually looks pretty good too. I made templates of everything including the hole-positions. I could make more of these but, of course, I'm not a vendor.

Two Tons of Fun- We allow zero unpaid for soliciting on this site as i stated before. Even though none of the vendors make this product we will not allow you to sell it for free on here. Every vendor has paid to be able to sell products. If you go ahead and sell this product on here without DevilYellow's permission we will have to take action accordingly. Heed this warning. If you want to become a vendor contact DY. Thanks for your cooperation. If you wish to further this conversation please PM me.

Somone who is not making a profit on selling an item should not need to pay in order to sell that item. When we are requesting this persons help there is no need to discourage him from making the GTO community better equipped.
