I just noticed the Military Goats section and was wondering how many Navy Chiefs we have here. I'm an ITC stationed in Charleston. My last sea tour was on the USS Yorktown (CG-48).

Okay...I know the list came out Thursday night/Friday morning...surely there are some motivated 1st classes that made Chief that HAVE Goats! Get your asses on here slackers!
Gumby, when you get to Norfolk, be sure to give us a buzz at the 757 Goat club. The site is in my signature. For all of you slugs (oh wait...we can't call them that anymore..WTF?!), send the PMs and introduce yourself to the mess. Or we'll find you...remember...the Chief is watching.
I know what you fellas mean about the PT. We took ours out for a nice slow run on Wednesday, and THREE guys fell out! I should say, passed out. AND...those three, and FOUR more couldn't pass the PRT! WTF?!
Traitor.! Just kidding Sir.
Once a Chief, always a Chief.
I was initiated in 1982 three weeks after I put the bars on. I didn't find out I had made it until I stopped through DC after commissioning, which really sucked... Funny story, I just got back from WESTPAC running a test, worked with an AWC who had been trained by my trainee... Also, the AWCM for the command was one of my students in 1978, he's getting ready to retire on 30.
QUOTE=GumbyGoat]Senior Chief OS here in Great Lakes at RTC...at least for a few more months, then I'm off to Norfolk, VA for sea duty.
Have 75 CPO Selects here. First PT this morning and boy did it suck. We'll see how they shape up over the next few weeks.
Busy eh? I know what you mean, we've only got a small fraction of that and have alot of work to do. Can we get some decent cadence?!?! Good luck![/QUOTE]
If you go to any search engine they have some failrly decent cadence. The one's we use here are kinda gay (not there's anything wrong with that). If you want the good stuff, online is your best bet. We have our slugs making some up. If they come up with anything good, I'll send it along.

SLUGS they are and SLUGS they will always be... I will definitely look you guys up. I will be down there in Summer 07. My Wife just retired as a 21 year ETC and is lookin for a job right now. She will probably stay in Wisconsin until my precom ship arrives in Norfolk. Looking forward to getting back to sea duty.

Yea.. plenty of chiefs.. since the navy only keeps ya as a petty officer for whats the time.. 6 months between e4-e7?
something like that...
Seriously tho. what do ya do with all those e-7+
2 promotions to e-6 ago.. it was 100% in the rate i work with (joint office).
95% to e-5
got all these 3 year e-5s and 4-5 year e-6s walking around.. not to mention the 8 year e-7+
and they are sitting above all of us with 10+ years in still at e5-e6 in other services. Kinda cheating..

Thanks, but it's not a lack of cadence material, but a lack of initiative, motivation, rhythm, intelligence, stamina, and did I mention initiative, initiative, and initiative? If you do get some good ones, please send them along…The old ones are getting boring!
And to all you SLUGS lurking around! Time is running out, introduce yourselves!

I'm assuming you don't want to hear about how I took the ET1 test before the six year mark? (Didn't make it and got out--2 unrelated occurrences)
Anyway, thanks to those of you out there still serving.

I'm assuming GMC (SEL) ? Congratulations on the selection, GMC is no give-away! Have you signed the deck log over at the Goat Locker, or should I even ask! FCC.
