a good friend of mine told me with the LSX blocks.. because they are made of aluminum they will warp once you start approaching 500-550rwhp... is this true?
he suggested the LQ4 iron block because it can take more... is it really necessary for 500-550rwhp?

Aluminum blocks can hold quite a bit of power. Iron blocks will have less ballooning of the cylinder walls and less squirming of the bottom end in very high power applications.

Honestly, it was what I was thinking also (about the guy being retarded). With the HP levels being jacked up so high that you would need to swap to an iron block in, I would think that traction issues would be a greater concern, and we all know how much fun getting traction in these cars is!
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
