Your buddy in the Evo needs to get a better tune. That was WAY too much fuel on take off. To the point he will damage the engine. Seen it done before.

but good runs regardless

That's why you run drag radials against evo's lol.

The X's are fast. I ran one with boltons around 26psi and beat it.

Then we raced a couple months later and he held me off by a length up to 130.

I think he added meth hehe. The gauge was almost hitting 30psi the 2nd time.

Mine and the other GTO have sagging spring. So my 285 drags rubb the shit out my inner wheel well, I even have rolled fenders. His evo is a monster now. It really is. He's running a Zo6 soon; some guy from his gym. I think he might stand a chance.

275's are your friends. Why the 285? And if it's rubbing on the inner wheel well, why did it matter if you rolled the fender? The BFH mod might help the rubbing on the inner fender....or downsize to a 275.

Go down to a 275 and get stiffer springs and drag bags. It WILL fix the problem.

What are the evo's mods? I'm pretty sure the one I raced had his turbo ported.

He was shooting dual flames on every race lol.

His Evo is really nice. Its droped to the floor on Tein Coilovers, performance he has Intake, Upper intercooler piping, Lower intercooler piping, test pipe, exhaust, boosts to 26PSI and a tune from DCmotorsports.

Their were a couple of people talking about getting a 285 to fit after rolling their fenders and getting stiffer spring. I just didnt think my springs sag at 9K miles. My drag radials were on for only 2 days. Not i have some cheap sumotomo (someshit like that) tire. Waiting on my girlfriend to get me some springs, and Big Boar shocks. lol

I'm sure you can make it work...I just think that a 275 would have made life a lot easier. I am lowered with a 275 MT drag radial, and it doesn't rub. Of course, I really do not have any fender lip left...it is ground all the way down.

Good luck....and sharp ride!
