Exiting #3 I normally lift a shade and turn further to the right to get a favorable
line into #4. In many cars, lifting and tightening is fatal. But in the reliably
understeering car, the weight transfer gives the front a bit more bite and you
can get around.
But to my astonishment the rear let go, swung the car to the right and then
the rears bit again, sending me off track fast. My rear never lets go.
Why did my rear let go?
It was the second lap of the day on brand new tires. The fronts would
be getting warm by then (from braking) and the rears are still cold. The fronts
will have had more of that new-tire shininess scuffed off. I had ample front camber and
not really enough rear camber. All of which added up to the rear letting go.
If you scroll down the page fast enough it looks like an old school flip page cartoon. lol

Those are the best gto pictures I've ever seen. Look how calm you are in the photos. It almost looks like you were trying to get as much dirt on the track as possible LOL.
What sucks is that it happened during your 1st session of a 3 day track weekend. Nothing like taking all the wind out of your sails right at the beginning. I know how it feels, and it takes me a while to regain 100% confidence. Oh well, I hope you had a fun weekend, I had a great time as always . Glad you and the goat are OK.

The number of people who said "oh that was you was it". I made the
photographer move elsewhere because it mucked up his aesthetics.

Yeah. My other significant offage earlier this year was on lap 1 of
session 1. Hopefully I've learnt that lesson now.
lol scroll down fast and its like an old school nickelodeon

Looks like minimal damage. These cars are pretty resilient. I went off and took out a large bush, car didn't show any damage... Wish I could say the same for that bush.
Wow, glad you and the goat made it through fine but damn .. those are some sick shots!

Flink, sorry to see the pics, but glad to hear the only thing really hurt was your pride.
