HID=dead battery

Do these things draw that much power. I had alittle mishap accidently having one wired up to the high beam instead of the low killed one of the bulbs. But seriously had them on and working for maybe 1min and my battery was dead. Granted my battery is probably the orginal and from the looks of it practically bone dry but damn. So anyone know where I can get a decent battery? I've searched autozone, napa, and advance and it seems all that is available is the optima yellow and red top but there $170-$200 WTF that battery better come with a BJ. What happend to $50-$60 for a battery.

Hid's draw LESS current than the stock halogen lights. The battery was just that bad.
You can buy several batteries for under $100 for our car. Dont use the car search feature when looking for a battery, just use the dimensions of our battery, and search for top post batteries within those measurements.

Thats what I thought but I guess the intial voltage draw on start up eat up any juice left in the battery(I have the accesory wire from the bat to the ballast). I guess I should have actually followed the directions and followed step 1. make sure your electrical system is up to par. Had the battery on the charger for awhile then ran the car around the block came back idled it for awhile, shut it off then went to restart and click click click. Guess i'm off to O'reillys in the morning where I found a battery for $79 which seems much more reasonable. What a crappy friday night!

Yep while the operating current draw of HIDs is lower than halogens, their initial startup current is much higher. Turning them on/off a few times without the engine running can be enough to drain a battery that is already marginal. If your battery was very low on electrolyte as you said, it was already weak and the drain from the HIDs finished it off.

Got a new battery $100 at napa and all is good. Got my fogs hooked up and working they look sweet, tested them out tonight and they completly drown out the stock low beams. Also ordered new low beam bulbs since I killed one. Now I have to wait another week or so before I can get it all up and going can't wait.

may be HID seem brighter than other headlights or halogens, hey dont draw much power than those. you need to check for battery repairs
