Tensioner movement is not only absolutely normal with a blower, it is desireable. The 3/4" deflection is the belt stretching and relaxing as you apply and release load. Nothing to be concerned about as long as it isn't hitting the inner or outer stop. The Comp tensioner, like the Katech, is fixed. It is unable to compensate for the aforementioned belt fluctuations, which is why Katech does not recommend it for supercharged applications. Eventually, the belt will start flapping and eject itself if the tensioner cannot dynamically compensate. Replacing the belt with a Gates heavy duty truck belt will reduce the stretching under load.

The regular Gates belts are pretty nondescript. The "Fleetrunner" green stripe belts are different, as are the racing belts. Gatorbacks are very good because they don't trap air under them. Pulleys such as those produced by Reichard and others have the ventilation in the pulley, not the belt, which is a better way to go.
I switched to a solid tensioner and a Fleetrunner belt. No matter what belt I tried I had slip untill I went solid. ECS is a good upgrade but even with that thing people see slip. More and more people are running the solid tensioners and so far so good. Sometimes too much "theorizing" prevents people from trying something that make acutally work i.e solid tensioner with a Maggie.

I tried the solid and still have it, but not on the car.
No matter how tight we made it the the PSI would go up and down. The ECS made it much better and more consistent.
ECS tensioner and a Gates FleetRunner belt is the best setup. (Remember that there are 2 tension settings on the ECS tensioner.) Also, if the belt is slipping/slips once, it's no-good under boost anymore.
We have the 8 inch crank, new upgraded maggie tensioner, 2.8 snout all on the ECS 8 rib and we are going to use the 100 inch Gates. I think with your stock crank and the 3.0 the 99 is a good choice.
hmmm didnt realize there was a second setting on the ECS tensioner how do you set it?? I swapped out to a new gatorback 6 rib on mine after replacing the rear belt and put a little belt conditioner on every week, boost is holding right around 10 lbs with a peak of 11 depending on weather, im only seeing the drop above 6k rpms too.

not buyin that... i used to toss my procharger belt every now and then on a high rpm hit and it'd just slap her back on and go.
Prochargers tend to be very hard on belts at high RPM, due to the nature of centrifugals and how ATI sets them up. You're working the belt the hardest when it wants to suck the most air between the belt and pulley. The belt load vs. RPM of a Roots blower is different.
