Looking to build my motor need help finding parts! And discussion

Lets start were im at as of now. Im currently running a tvs2300with nitro daves wet shot, stock heads with upgraded valvetrain and a small cam. The drivetrain id built for the power thanks to hendrix. Now im looking to stay small cubes and aluminum block. I want bigger then 364ci but smaller then a 402ci. So i have decided on the ls3 block standard bore (376ci). I am Mid 600rwhp range right now.

Now I already have a Callies Magnum XL crank made for a standard stroke (3.625). i need to find the ls3 block somewere, the cheepest place i found was scoggin dickey at $1399 but i need to do better, I also need compstar H/I rods and piston to put me at 10:1 compression with a 64cc head. In the end my goal is 16psi with a 150 shot and 800rwhp. Is this feesable? Anyone know were to get the best prices on this stuff preferrably local to save on freight and money? Any better ideas?

Sounds like you have a lot of top quality parts to start with, so that's always a good sign!

Before you do the LS3 block, have you considered an iron block? Might be a bit more capable of max boost plus the giggle gas.

There's lots of sponsors out your way, so you might want to post on one of the regional boards too to get their input. Kartek comes to mind out East, and I'm sure there are others too. Do you want just the parts or a complete engine or a turnkey setup?

Why not just Stroke and Forge your current block?

There is a guy on LS1tech (Jakeshoe in northern Texas) that sells new 6.0 iron blocks for $450 plus something like $150 shipping. But, if you went that route, you are sort of limited to the standard 6.0 stroke or making it into a 402/408. I know a blower likes smaller cubes, but I'd be tempted to go with a stroker iron block and 9:1 compression.

I want to stay away from the iron block because of weight and do not want to do a stroked ls2 because like you said, these blowers like smaller cubes and i have never had phenominal results with big FI motors.. Im not wanting to add another 80 or 90 pounds to the front of the car. If he can get the iron block i wonder if he has access to the ls3 blocks?

i was gonna suggest something like this:
http://www.jegs.com/p/Eagle/Eagle-LS...57303/10002/-1
but i guess you already have some parts.
(im also a LSx noob so i may have just recommended a bad setup but i know Eagle makes some good parts for my old car)

If you are going to call BS, you need to post a few more details. Can't really follow what you're talking about. Are you making a 6.2L using a stock 6.0 crank? If so, then you have to be boring it out. That's not the same as stroking it. On the other hand if you mean you are using a LS3 crank in a 6.0 iron block with a standard bore, that means you need special pistons. If so, where are you buying the pistons?
