If you stomp it unlocked at 2 grand you will make a truck load of tq because of the converter flash. But who cares you got a 10 sec car in full street trim there.

Enjoy that thing. Im sure its a beast.

Nice build and good numbers. That's not a 10 second street trim car just from the numbers though. But I say get to the track, get a time slip, prove me wrong. LOL!

Guess i will have to just do that then to show yea lol. Its definitely faster then my procharger setup. I think low 11s with no sweat and 10s with better tires. I went 12.3 with procharger setup at 3999lbs for weight with me in it with part of one of the boost pipes disconnected from a clamp breaking under boost.

With the launch this is capable hitting 10s (not sure about tires or driver haha). I estimate anywhere from a 1.5-1.6 60'.

That cam is entirely way to big for that set up.

22.5* of overlap. That is silliness on a small bore, A4, LS3 headed GTO.

Knock 10* off the durations, keep the ICL around 110 and way less overlap & I bet it make more hp & tq.

And drives way way better to boot. Not hating just sayin...

Im not sure why you would say that My car and his are very simular and I race on 18 drag radials in full street trim and run 10`s first time out. He should have no problem getting some 10 sec time slips with a 1.6 or better 60 ft

Darn now you got me thinking if i should go to a smaller cam lol with a lower LSA I can always use more rwhp and rwtq.

I don't think a 4" bore is small now is it? I'd love to have that bore LOL

BTw, with a manual trans behind it this 403 would put down very similar hp to your 416 (maybe more ?)
I didn't specify anything in the build, but it is a pretty well thought out package with the convertor. All it needs is a set of 3.91s and a 28" tire for some killer track times

This is a comparison against LIL SS from LS1tech who albeit should be lighter and possibly run a better time.

His setup is a 418 CI through a 4L80E, 12 bolt with 4.56

LIL SS runs a 10.73 @128.755

Locked the graphs look as such:

As you can see, LIL SS makes more peak horsepower, but Josh is making more torque through the RPM band. (Now I could probably get Josh's torque up to 470-480 rwtq but I wasn't going to keep locking the converter out of fear of killing the drivetrain just to raise up torque that the converter completely skips over)

The real eye catching thing though is when the converters are unlocked:

You can see here that Josh's car puts more power to the ground period. I would suspect from this we'll definitely see some great track times, and if we slap a rear in there and the right tires (and some weight reduction) we should see mid tens.

My thoughts are the car is properly setup. And my driving impression is absolutely the same... minus the fact that 1st and 2nd gear are useless on the street even rolling around with drag radials.

I think Sable was saying until it actually gets that 10s slip, billing it as such is silly

Man that seems complicated. I'm glad all I have to worry about is a clutch and breaking rear end parts lol.

I know your not hating but you have to understand that this cam was specially picked out to spec on how the heads were done and the whole setup. Not a off the shelve cam here. Fraser at AES who used to work for Speed Inc knows his stuff and took his time to spec this stuff out right. Car drives great except for converter is taking some getting used to since it is a PT series from yank so it isn't really as street friendly cause it isn't really as tight as most would like. For the size of this cam car drives perfect. Its all in the tune and andrew proves it by how good this thing drives. Next mod is 3.91s and newer nitto N01Rs to replace 555Rs. I think I should be able to hit low 11s easily.

Easy there

lol

I think I might be able to pull off a 10 with practice with stock gears and 555Rs. I think my driving skills are okay. I did win runner up at PITP in my area last year and probably could have won if it wasn't for my boost pipe coming off from broken clamp. I was very consistent on my runs. And I have been able to launch this thing without breaking tires loose, just have to push it just right lol.

Only down fall I see so far in this build is dam my MPG sky rocketed down lol. I use to see 21-24 average with procharger setup and now lucky to get 12 average. Gas station love me now, and they are going to put me on the america's most wanted list for polluters.

3.91s with a stroker and an auto? First gear is going to be INSANE if you ever hook.

PS, you didn't ask but a good set of drag radials is the Nitto NT05R's. They're the first DR I'd ever tried, but I was very happy with them. I haven't used them on a drag strip yet, but they hook damn good on the street.

Of course, as cold as its getting down here, even DR's won't stick. You'll have to wait till the spring to get a real feel for it on the street.

I really don't have problems with traction if I take off right. Just have to know what rpms to power brake at and how much pedal to.give it. See so many times people just slamming gas pedal down and do nothing but spinning and i am down the road while they are eating my dust, and alot of times this is with cars that i know are faster then me.

Josh, I think you should run it ASAP. I didn't know this but LIL SS (who we compared power to here and on LS1tech) is apparently a damn truck that weighs as much/more than the GTO. 10.5s perhaps?
