Man that shifter is long. Atleast with the GTO I didn't feel so inadequate.

I almost did a AC Cobra replica from factory 5 instead of getting my GTO. That as been my favorite car since I was a kid. I was planning on dropping in an LSX and doing a turbo too. The GTO just ended up being easier and much cheaper than a Vette. One of these day I may build one but with two young kids I just dont have that time for it. Maybe it will be my retirement project

Very cool project

Great job man. I have also been eyeing a factory five car but this one:

https://www.factoryfive.com/kits/33-hot-rod/

I just need to build another garage first.

No matter, as that thing ought to be really cool when it's done!

They are an AC Cobra, NOT ford, Carroll Shelby just decided to use the 427 ford motor in the race version, most road versions actually came out with the cheaper 428 ford motor.... I'm sure if the LS twin turbo was an option back in the late 60's MR Shelby would have gone down a similar path to this.... Awesome build mate, keep up the good work, LS Chev all the way!!!

Got the sound/heat mat down and laid in the carpet and got the shifter and my lil custom AC box made and installed

I have since sat the body back on the car to test fit a few things, and get the doors/hood/and trunk ready. Honestly this car hant been a nig PITA just finding time to do all the work is what has taken so long. i only h ve after work and weekends to work on it and its just me so im pretty happy with how far i have gotten

Also have installed and taken off all the lights, and everything that mounts to the body on teh outside to make all the holes needed for mounting and such,

Project 818 would be simple in Alaska. Those model subbies are a dime a dozen here. A quick check on Craigslist found me 4 non-wrx imprezas with the highest price of 4k and the lowest at 1800.

https://www.factoryfive.com/kits/project-818/

The sneak peak vid makes the mid engined car look fun. Not nearly as cool at the OP's build though
