Volant CAI *Custom Lid & New Tube!*

Up for sale is a Volant Cold Air Intake for the 2005/2006 GTOs, this intake has roughly 6000 miles on it. With the intake you get a custom polished/chrome lid instead of the standard Volant lid. Also within the last 500 miles put on the intake system I purchased a new intake duct because I didn't like the original one that had Volant embossed on the tube - this new one looks cleaner. I also have a Volant cleaning kit with the blue filter dye that was used once - this will be included. I am looking for $100 shipped (OBO) - the item will be shipped in the original Volant packaging.

The Good:
* Custom polished look lid
* New intake duct
* Low mileage
* Free cleaning/service kit
* Nearly all hardware is supplied, see The Bad.

The Bad:
* The filter has a hole drilled into it where I installed my IAT sensor. This does not affect flow because it is in the direct center of the filter where the air flows through after being filtered.
* One of the lid screws and worm clamps are missing - Volant can supply these to you.
* You will need new gaskets - you can get these for free from Volant.

Other notes:
* The Volant box has a lot of random holes on it, I blocked them with RTV and duct tape also.

When dealing with Volant, I recommend you contact Daniel. I have worked with him to get the new intake tube, gaskets, and miscellaneous hardware with no hassles.

Now is it really custom polished because it looks like you just removed the paint same as I did years ago.

Either way best looking intake I've ever owned just finally got replaced last week. I also replaced tube with black one and used IAT in filter. Worked well for IAT's used a push clip to plug whole when got rid of it. Except I ported Drivers side and front for more air flow from the rad, and opened up the cover that blocks flow on the car from the rad and kidney grills. Either way good luck with sale!

I never said custom made, just custom polished appearance. It's not the way it came from the factory, so I'd say it's custom.

If anybody asked about it I would have openly said how it was achieved... Either way I agree this is one of the best intakes from an appearance standpoint.

Since there are no takers as of yet...any way a man could get just the tube?

Thanks

Sorry, I have no plans of parting this intake out. If I do it would be completely useless because nobody would want to buy just the filter or just the box. I'd rather let it sit around in my attic unless it sells as a whole.

It's funny that this came up. Because I might be interested in just the box
I already have a carbon fiber tube and K&N filter but I can always use another filter too

I am assuming you will take the lid with the box? If that is the case, then the box/lid and tube are spoken for. If somebody claims the filter (who will also receive the cleaning kit) then we can work something out for all parties.

$60 plus shipping for the box setup, $40 plus shipping for the tube? Just to get a feel, I bought the new tube for $65 plus shipping from Volant so I think these are fair prices.

I'm down with the tube for $40, figure out shipping and let me know a total (41502)....question is who gets the rubber connector from tube to box. I need that with clamps if at all possible. I need both connectors at TB & box...btw...not trying to block you out here Ovrpwrd...just trying to sort it all out.
