I may be able to make it to this event, but if I do I'm not sure if I will race since I've already raced twice in the last month... and the expenses are not cheap.

Well that wouldn't be to fair now would it... With the more power I'm making, launching on street tires with a manual is no easy task. My sixties would probably be worse then before. I need Dr's just to hold you at bay with your set up on street tires. . I could still manage a 12.3 on street tires I imagine, because last time at sac. my first run on Dr's I got a 2.1 60ft. (I was learning) I still ran a 12.3. It's just more exciting for me to run with Dr's now.

I cannot believe the words I'm reading right now? WTH! Mr. 2.002 on street tires that's a crock of dog poo! Andrew got a 2.0 on streets, that will be a potential 3rd infraction buddy.

What did I do ?? I most certainly do not see myself paying $50 to race and fight off not burning the tires up to get 12.30's all day and not a P.B.

Money doesn't grow on trees for me me, and I've always said, I've raced my car plenty times for fun on street tires, now when I go to race its because I'm going for a p.b, not to get mediocre times and beat up on my car.

It's x-mas time and my girls b day as well, not to mention a baby on the way, I don't think its a great idea do go racing 3 times in 6 weeks at around $100 a pop when you include gas and fees. Lucky for me I have not even had to pay for drag radials thanks to ray.... This Shit adds up.

Don't get me started. Yes it is expensive to race (drag or track), but just wait until you break something.

Wait a minute... hold-up right there... what was that?
I remember someone telling me that street tires were no excuse and that I should go out and run... who might that have been?

Hell, I had two 1.93 60' at Sac on street tires... maybe I should let you borrow my duffel bags?

Ok, that's a responsible answer... I can accept that. All this "it's too hard to launch on street tires" crap though... that ain't going to fly

There is a difference between an auto and an M6 that apparently some people may not be aware of. And yes I did tell you to go out and run, fortunately for me I had a chance to use a pair of dr's from ray, now that I have I must say I enjoy racing on dr's over street tires for the sheer reason of getting a better e.t. Who wouldn't ? I have enjoyed every pass I've done in my car (and let me reiterate this) I have raced at least 35+ times with street tires but Im enjoying it more now that I can get a decent 60ft. Who wouldn't ?

As far as me wanting you to race with your new power, ya Im guilty.... I dont know if you have any plans to get dr's, and with how you say you hardly ever race 1/4's, I would assume you are not..... So yes, I wanted to see what you could do with what you had to work with. Now if you were a m6 car with your power and on street tires, then It would be just about impossible to run your 60's like you did, so thats why I just said run with your street tires... and see what happens.

Man its getting hot in here, cause it feels like i am getting

I know when stuff goes boom on your car Greg it is very exspensive. I give you credit that you just brush it off and just get her ready for the next track day.

Amem! Jeff I'm gonna need you to fire up my Weber when we get back all this "street tire racing" makes us hungry! Lol. I hear it from the wife all the time about drag racing, I tell her to race the Tahoe then. The couch is my new lover lately.

Exactly.... I dont even want to think of that but of course that is just another possibility of having to spend alot more $$$ for racing...

Darn, I hoped you wouldn't notice I edited that part out. Yes, a manual makes things much more challenging. Best 60' times "I" could run were all over 2.0; traction control was the only thing keeping me in the 1.9's.

You don't even want to see me try to drive a stick... it's just painful! Trying to launch on a drag strip would be down-right dangerous.

With all the drag racing lately the thought has crossed my mind a few times. Yeah, it would be fun to set some good times... and not burning-up my street tires would be a plus. But no, I need to start saving so I can get back onto the twisty race tracks!

back off on this cat ...i'm actually proud of my young grass hopper ,been telling him this since day one to ditch the street tires & run some big boy tires, we go to the track to hit the best possible times our cars can, even if it means shedding some weight off and once you hit your time you never want to go backwards so i understand why he would not want to now race on street tires having that said we better see your but out there this sat with my dr's again with ricks tune now

I hear ya Todd.... Everyone has different priorities they need their money going too. It's really not a tire thing with me at all.... If I was wealthy and didn't have to worry about money then I would be out on the track all the time, just for the sheer joy of it. . They need to make racing free to all, wouldn't that be nice, huh ?
