LS1 heads on 2000 LQ4

Wasn't sure where to post this, but would the heads from my LS1 work on my 2000 Sierra with the 6.0L?

I would rather spend the money on new heads for car than the truck

Yes, they would physically fit, but why?

This aint a strong point of mine, but its started to develop a tick which I just assumed was a worn lifter or something in the valve train and if I was going to do heads on GTO I just assumed use the LS1 heads in the truck while its torn down

243s are so cheap though...and so are 317s for that matter.

You are wanting to switch heads? The LQ4 will have 317 heads which are low compression. The 241 heads don't flow worth crap. I would leave the truck heads on the truck and get 243 heads for the GTO.

This. You can usually find 317s for like $100 on craigslist or ebay.

Thanks, I was looking locally and the 317s are around $500 with usually over 100k Kms on them.

I'll have to keep an eye out, are they the stock heads from the newer LQ9?

Jeebus. I mean if it comes down to it I've got no problem posting them to you man. It would save you a buttload of money and I'd rather you have something worth having over those craptastic ls1 heads. Check this out:

I've seen low mileage LS2/LS6 243 casting heads go for $400. I'm fairly sure LQ4 and LQ9 engines used the same heads. I believe the only difference is the piston dish.

Send a message via AIM to slow
the last set of 4K mile 317 heads I had, paid 100 a pair, and sold them for $125 + subwoofer.
