If you want to, bring it by the shop. Steve is pain in the butt. But he's pretty good at diagnostics.

If they are all in a series they are all related usually. Codes in the 300's are usually spark plugs, wires, coilpacks or fuel pump going bad. The code can be cleared but will come back after so much data is collected. Easiest thing first is get some fuel treatment to make sure it wasn't bad gas. Then spark plugs. How many miles?

Pop the hood at night with the hood light off and see if it is arcing. Might have a bad wire grounding out somewhere.

I think part of the problem is that it is random. The car will run perfectly all day long. It may stumble slightly at idle about 10% of the time. When this does occur, say at a red light, the CEL will begin to flash. Once I roll not the throttle, the light will stop flashing. The CEL just stays on from there.

Adam, the car has just over 60,000 miles on it. The first time I took the car in, their suggestion was to run 89 octane fuel for a few tanks. It's on tank four and the fuel doesn't appear to be the issue. I will go ahead and try some sort of fuel additive. There's nothing to lose at this point.

Anyway, it's just frustrating.

On a brighter note... Omar, I think you'll really enjoy the new brake set up.

Those type of problems are aggravating. Yea try some sea foam. That stuff works really well with cleaning out and any octane booster will work.

So I took a little drive down the official LA Hwy. 22 road course today. I went from Hwy. 22 @ Airline, to the side road and back to 22. I wasn't nearly as bold, driving solo. I turned left onto Hwy. 16 after crossing the diversion canal to head towards home. I ended up getting stuck behind an old man in a Cadillac. What's worse is that it was a dark red, current gen, CTS-V! you know you're driving slow when I complain...

Changed the plugs yet? I know they say 100K, but I'd give that a shot. It's unlikely a fuel issue.

I took a look under the hood yesterday and I don't want any part of changing those plugs. I fought that battle with the Grand Prix. I will pay someone else to do it though...

New here from a small suburb north of baton rouge. I recognize stone cold's name from another local forum. Well I just picked up an 05 with a tad over 50, 000 miles. It has Kooks full length headers and Borla exhaust. The car is lowered some and will figure it out this weekend when I change the oil and inspect the brakes better.

First, welcome to the madness.
Second, 05 with Borla? Is it blue?
Third, I agree with the others, I no longer venture outside of this thread too much anymore. It just tends to piss me off reading everyone elses crap or I get dragged into defending Mitch in another thread fight. Its like his post automatically start the shit stirring pot. lol

So, I ran a red new body Chevy truck(short bed, reg cab) last night on Airline in the Garyville area. Lowered, loud, tach on the driver side of dash, some sticker on back.....From 50ish rolls twice barely pulled on him. I'm guessing he wasn't stock, and I'm pretty much factory as factory can be(Volant CAI only).

And on another note, was invited to attend a dyno day at Lethal but had to work today. On the way to work I see a west bound(I10) Crystal Red ZL1 with black rims, guess that is where he was going. smurf! I bette make some money today.

And Mike if you get a ZL1, get Crystal Red. It reminds me of my 04 cobra. Low, fat, and a badazz color.

No it is black. Last registered in Scott. It has a bad lifter so I am about to buy head and cam package since I have to pull the heads to change the lifters. Then going for a tune. Not sure on which cam at the moment. Not looking for the most power going to try to find the most reliability. Too many LS? running around to try to be the fastest. Just want something to had a little more torque coming out of the twisties.

Honestly I wouldn't even waste money on heads. You'll hav plenty enough trq with 243s and a mild cam. Heads would be a waste of money for that application IMO.

I'll probably be there. Need to get in early, the events are gaining attention/popularity fast, and I think there may be a cap on number of cars allowed to run laps this time.
