pushrod queston

This might be a stupid queston but i noticed that comp cams recomends a 7400 pushrod
Then with trick flow recomends a 7500 push rod are those numbers bases on cam profile or sprung height ,i know a push rod lenght checker is the correct way to find the correct length thanks for input and have a good holiday

If you are using Trick Flow heads, they have a thicker deck, so generally a longer pushrod is needed. Like you said, you should measure it to be sure.

Actually, the longer length push rod requirement for TFS heads is due to their "rolled" valve angle of 13.5 degrees.

The valves are tilted away from the intake face a little more than the stock 15 degree angle from the factory so a slightly longer push rod length is required.

Same holds true for the MAST motorsports heads which are "rolled" to 11 degrees from deck surface. Their push rod lengths vary from 8.050" to 8.200" depending on the camshaft and rocker arms used..

There is no "set" length for a particular engine but if you are careful checking the rocker geometry and lifter preload, you can get something in the ballpark from a reputable valvetrain designer.
