I had catted 1 7/8ths ARH LT's and their 3" x-pipe on my 05 with corsa sport mufflers at the back. My ride always smelt like gas until the cats were warmed up and even when driving you could still smell a small odor but nothing bothersome. A friend just put catless pypes LT's on his 2010 GT and to be honest, they smell about the same although his is a bit older than mine.

I just put kooks long tubes 1 3/4 (wishing i would've went with 1 7/8 more gains for future mods oh well) and high flow mids and it makes the car sound amazing. The tone is completely different and louder when you get on it. If you keep the car under 3k you will have no problems with loudness. If you have the dough go for the blow.
FWIW I hate my magnaflows with a passion. They arent all that quiet, they have no tone to them at all, its just noise. My sweet thunders/h pipe I absolutely loved, great tone and great sound. But ultimately too loud for a DD and I was losing a decent amount up top with it. My next move is to buy a stock 04 catback and weld in the mufflers and tail pipes behind my 3 inch x pipe

For a while I had LT headers and cat less mid and no mufflers, talk about ear deafening loud. I was even pulled over several times because my car was so loud. I miss it a lot, but went with dynomax race bullets and an xpipe, it sounds a little more tame on slow to mid throttle, and wot is just a raging beast flying down the road. I have even had someone fooled that I had some super high octane racing gas, 93octane with this car doesn't stink, it smells very different than other exhaust fumes.

I finally found a local exhaust shop who relieved me of my high-flow cats after 70,000 miles. The difference is now a slight shift in the exhaust tone (little louder, little deeper) and a bit more interior resonance (minor rattles and buzzing inside the cabin). It will wake the dead on a cold start, but is relatively tame at idle and cruising below 3,000 rpm.
Definitely a check in the "positive' column when evaluating whether or not to keep her...
