Harmonic balancer and crank pins came in today. Also am going to pick up some coolant, oil and oil filter. Is there anything else I need for this install? I also have the timing cover gaskets, timing chain, oil pump, and red loctite.

Do I need any RTV?

you only need a dab of RTV; i'll bring it. that sounds like everything though, but it wouldn't be a brevard GTO mod party if we had everything the first time!

Only some M&H 275/50/17 DRs. Want to try a 28 inch diameter. Cage is next before I go any faster. But I'm thinking some All Pro heads when I redo the top end. I can mill them down like my AFRs are and go NA like now but I can also go custom turbo with the reverse dome pistons I'm running.

After the East Coast Shootout I'll probably trailer her down to Melbourne for good. Hate not having her here.

Thanks for looking out Jason, but I'm gonna stick with the plastidip plan. It would be hard to match the 8 year old tint that's on the rest of the windows.

From what I've been able to piece together this week is that Orlando Speedworld will reopen. The oval track is going to be operated by the same guy that is running Lakeland Dragstrip. It's also going to be a NASCAR track this season which it wasn't before.

As for the dragstrip, that's still being negotiated but it looks like the same guy is bidding on it also. From what I've read he put some money into Lakeland and the racers have been pretty positive on how he runs it.

Yellow Bullet forum mainly. The guy that runs Lakeland, posted on Jan 16th:

Just to clear the air and to set the record straight: I Ozzy and my wife Maria Moya have purchased the assets of Orlando Speedworld Circle Track and have leased the property for the next 20 years. We look forward to bringing the same type of improvements to the circle track as we have been able to accomplish at the Lakeland Dragstrip. We will strive to make it one of the premier circle track facilities in the south east. It will take time and we appreciate all input and everyone's patience as we move forward with this new endeavor. We will announce a schedule of events as soon as possible. For all those people who doubt or think differently or don't understand, a press conference and press release (media only) will be given on Friday January 18th at New Symrna Speedway at 1 pm.

Ps: As for the Dragstrip, I am not at liberty to talk about any potential dealings at this time. I am awaiting the arrival of Carl Weisinger back from his well deserved vacation. At that time, Carl, Myself and my wife Maria will continue our negotiations and hopefully the three of us will be able to come to some kind of agreement. Thank you, Ozzy

Also this pretty much confirms it:

NASCAR Sanctions New Smyrna, Orlando
Marquee Florida Speedways Join Whelen All-American Series
By Paul Schaefer, NASCAR
January 18, 2013 - 4:00pm
Tweet

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Florida is the birthplace of NASCAR and Friday afternoon, two marquee tracks in the state joined the NASCAR family.

NASCAR and track officials announced New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speedworld will be sanctioned tracks in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in 2013.

New Smyrna is a half-mile banked paved oval near New Smyrna Beach, Fla. – 25 minutes south of Daytona – and Orlando is a .375-mile banked paved oval east of the city.

Super Late Models will be NASCAR Division I at both facilities. Speedworld operates on Friday nights and New Smyrna on Saturday nights.

Representing NASCAR at the Friday announcement at New Smyrna Speedway were Jim France, NASCAR vice chairman and executive vice president; George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president, regional and touring series; and Bob Duvall, NASCAR senior director, business development. They were joined by New Smyrna general manager Terry Roberts, Orlando track operator Ozzy Moya, and Robert Hart, who owns both tracks.

Would anyone local with a stock diffuser + $100 be interested in a trade for a carbon fiber maverick man diffuser? Trying to put my car back to stock. Let me know if you want pics or meet up sometime to arrange this. Also, if you have stock wheels laying around (preferably with tires) 17s or 18s... I'm floating the idea of trading my VMR VB3 Gunmetal 18's on 245/45/18's. If anyone is interested here shoot me a message. Thanks!

That's great news! I guess I had better keep my eyes open for a drag wheel/tire set-up since it looks promissing for the Bithslow drag strip to re-open. Thanks for the info Russ!

That's great news about Orlando Speedworld. Hopefully everything works out. Thanks for posting that up.

I liked them better too. The quad tips were a Borla setup. I had to go to a 05/06 Kooks Street Screamer because of clearance problems with the CF DSS driveshaft I just put in. 04 mufflers being in front of the diff put a heat source was to close to the CF also. Another benefit was going from 2.25 to 3 inches on the exhaust switch which should benefit my 427 when I up grade my top end.

Do you at least like the sound of the Kooks setup better?

I guess you could always go with a custom setup using Borla mufflers if you wanted.

Wayne, what time are we going to start this whole thing on Saturday? Do I need to get there Friday around 5 to reserve my spot in the garage?

I'm busy helping a friend move Friday so I can't do that. I was joking about getting there Friday, but now that you mention the heat issue, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to drop it off that night some time.

If Wayne doesn't reply tonight I'll give him a call tomorrow.
